A Life-Changing Experience with Tilde's Course
I'm glad I took Tilde's course - it's a total game-changer for anyone who wants to start building websites!
I was blown away by how much I learned and how confident I feel about building websites. The 'My Career' center and our instructor, Irina Penina, deserve all the credit!
I signed up for the Tilde training course at the 'My Career' center on Rimska Street after a friend sent me a link to the sign-up page. It was super easy - all I had to do was fill out a quick form with the bare minimum of info. You don't need to be on the job market to take the course - anyone can do it. A week or two later, I got an email invite from Timepad, and I just showed up without needing to respond.
I did have a question about the schedule, though, so I sent a quick email to the 'My Career' center and got a response right away. They sent me the schedule, and I was all set.
So, the day of the course arrived, and I headed on over. The center is seriously cool and comfy - they've got plush couches, a kids' room, and free water bottles!
The training itself took place on the second floor. I headed up and found myself in a huge, open lecture room with about 30 other students and our instructor, Irina Penina. She's a super warm and engaging person who told us all about Tilda with examples and even shared some of her own life experiences. Plus, she's got a great sense of humor and was happy to answer all our silly questions! Irina's an experienced programmer, the founder and owner of an international company called Igra.Media, a business speaker and conference presenter, game developer, and the list goes on. She's also a certified psychologist, which is just awesome.
Irina used an interactive whiteboard during the lecture, which was super cool and innovative. We got handed out these A4 notebooks with the lecture notes printed out, so we didn't need to take any notes. On the first day, Irina gave us a general overview of Tilda, and we picked up some stuff, even though it was a lot to take in coming from the streets...
The course structure was really clear from the get-go. We were told we'd have 10 sessions in total: 6 lectures, 3 practicals, and one exam day where we'd be defending our first student projects. Classes were held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2 pm to 5 pm. For the practical sessions, our group was split into two parts: 10 am to 1 pm and 2 pm to 5 pm. At the end of each session, we were given questionnaires to fill out and a mini-test with questions on the material we'd covered. It was a breeze if you'd been paying attention to the instructor.
Each day of the course was a blast - we learned so much and had a great time doing it! The second and third days were more lectures, where we learned even more about website design and, specifically, the Tilda platform. On the fourth day, we had a practical session in a spacious auditorium with comfortable monitors, chairs, and tables. The instructor walked us through the program step by step, and we repeated the actions while asking questions. At that point, it was still hard to believe I'd be able to handle this task - building a website!
The subsequent lectures and practicals followed the same pattern. We were given homework assignments for both the practical and lecture sessions, which were eventually tallied up to give us our final score by the end of the course. By the tenth day, the day of the project defenses, I'd finally gotten a handle on the program! It was a huge relief and a great feeling! What had initially seemed so daunting turned out to be not so complicated after all. Of course, I still have a lot to learn, but I've got a good grasp of the basics and know where to find the information I need. Tilda has a great resource section, including a Q&A forum where you can get answers to your questions. By the time we got to the project defenses, all of our classmates' projects were ready. Even the most unprepared multi-tasking moms managed to pull it off!
So, what can I say in the end... I'm really glad I took the course and would recommend it to anyone who wants to learn more about website design and development. The 'My Career' center did a great job of organizing the course, and Irina was an amazing instructor. I'm looking forward to working with Tilda and seeing what I can create!
