I recently stumbled upon a new drama that has me completely hooked - Thin Ice / Lucky Day Yoon Su. After watching just the first episode, I knew I had to see it through to the end. So, what's the point of all this? Simply put, there just aren't many interesting projects in the drama world anymore. I mean, who can blame them when there are shows like Thin Ice that are actually worth watching?

DESCRIPTION
I have to admit, the premise of this show really caught my attention. The fact that the main character's husband has been keeping his terminal illness a secret, and some shady dealings with their insurance have left them on the brink of losing their home and being unable to afford his medical treatment, really resonated with me.
As I watched, I found myself wondering how someone in this situation would be able to scrape together the money they needed. The main character, Kan Yoon-su, has already maxed out their credit cards and is struggling to make ends meet, with a 15-year-old daughter to care for. It's a really tough spot to be in.
But then, one day, the police show up to arrest a local drug dealer who has hidden his stash on the balcony of the main character's home. And that's when things start to take a dramatic turn for Kan Yoon-su.
Drama: Po Tonmuk Lyeode / Udaachny Den Yn Su reviewsFrom that point on, Kan Yoon-su's life is turned upside down. She goes from being a law-abiding citizen and mother to becoming a resourceful and determined drug dealer, all with the help of her daughter's art teacher, the charming Lee Gyoon.
And that's just the beginning. I won't give away any spoilers, but even in the final episodes, the creators are still managing to throw in some real plot twists that will keep you on the edge of your seat.
MAIN CHARACTERS
Kan Yoon-su / homemaker / Lee Yon-e
Drama On Thin Ice / Lucky Day Yoon Soo reviewsI'm blown away by this actress. She's got incredible range - from a wholesome citizen to a ruthless criminal. But don't judge her too harshly. She's a sweetheart, a good person. Her family's got a lot to be jealous of - her husband loves her, her daughter's smart and beautiful. Drama On Thin Ice / Lucky Day Yoon Soo reviewsIt's like the universe is conspiring against her. She stumbles upon some illicit substances and is torn between turning them in to the cops or getting involved in the shady business. But then, she discovers that her daughter's teacher is secretly involved in the same underworld - and she's got a score to settle. Will this be her lucky day? And how long will she be walking on thin ice?
Lee Gyung / art teacher / drug dealer / Kim Yong Kwan
Drama On Thin Ice / A Lucky Day For Yoon Su reviews I've got to say, the actor in this drama really stole the show. He's got charisma pouring out of every pore. I'm eagerly waiting for the dubbed version of 'First Trip' and I'm already hooked. So, why did a teacher with a romantic profession like art become a drug dealer? I won't give away the spoilers, but I'll say that it's not until closer to the end that you'll understand why he's doing it.
Drama On Thin Ice / A Lucky Day For Yoon Su reviews Pak Do Jin, Yoon Su's husband, played by Park Seo Bin, isn't the strongest character, but he's got his moments. He's got a great chemistry with the female lead!
Pak Do Jin / Yoon Su's husband / Park Seo Bin
At first, I found this character annoying, but when you learn more about his backstory and how he interacts with Yoon Su, you start to understand that he's got feelings for her. The problem is, he's always been the good guy, always helping others, but it's painful to see him get hurt when everyone he's helped turns their backs on him. The only one who tries to care for him is Yoon Su, but there's another woman in the picture who's got her eye on him.
Peak Ye Joo / Yoon Su's friend / Oh Yeon Ah
She's a sweet, caring person at first, but it's later revealed that she's actually a manipulative woman who's using Yoon Su for her own gain. The way the story unfolds with her is just shocking! She's a really despicable character, but it's a realistic portrayal of how people can be in real life.
Chan Tae Gu / Police Officer / Park Yoon Woo
Drama On Thin Ice / A Lucky Day For Yn Su ReviewsHe's on the hunt for drug dealers. And he's determined to catch the main characters. He's got his sights set on them. The finale will blow your mind too.
Drama On Thin Ice / A Lucky Day For Yn Su ReviewsHe's got a zero-tolerance policy for criminals, and he's always suspecting his own colleagues. The character's got some great moments.
I think I'll stop there with the main characters. To be honest, there are some amazing characters, but listing them all would take up too much space, and you'd probably get bored reading about it. Especially if you decide to watch this drama
Drama On Thin Ice / A Lucky Day For Yn Su Reviews
The characters are incredible. They've nailed it. They're all so relatable, like your neighbors or acquaintances who drive you crazy or make you feel thrilled. But each of them has secrets that'll make your hair stand on end.In short, I'm completely blown away by the cast! Each actor is on point.
STORY DEVELOPMENT
Yn Su and Lee Gyeong start dealing drugs, and they're being super creative to avoid getting caught.
Drama On Thin Ice / Lucky Day Yoon Su reviewsBut any crime will eventually get its punishment. We'll be watching the heroes suffer, see where their actions will ultimately lead. How far-reaching the circle of those affected will be. And you know what's the scariest part? I was rooting for them, and I wanted everything to go well for them!
LOCATIONS
It's all pretty straightforward here. The house, the streets, the clubs, the school. But there was one really intense moment that they captured on the poster. Where our heroes are running from the cops. That's the most thrilling and exhilarating moment in the series. They even repeat it at the end. It's like Bonnie and Clyde, but in a modern way. You can get a real adrenaline rush just from watching that one episode.
Drama On Thin Ice / Lucky Day Yoon Su reviewsIn my life, I've only ever run once when my adrenaline was pumping. My friends and I were picking strawberries, and then the owner of the strawberry patch came after us. You're running, your heart is racing, your lungs are about to burst, but it's exhilarating. That's exactly what this episode is like.
COSTUMES
It's all about the visual wow factor with Lee Gun's outfits. He looks amazing. The heroine is a lot more relatable. She's just a regular housewife - or rather, a desperate housewife.
SOUNDTRACK
I've got to say, the opening theme is incredible. It's like a female version of 'People Are Strange' by The Doors. I loved it.
MY THOUGHTS
This storyline really gets under your skin. What happens when you break the law? And what if it's the only way out of a desperate situation?
I felt like I was right there with the protagonist, Yn Su, who's been pushed to the edge. Her love for her husband and daughter is what keeps her going, but it's also what makes her take a huge risk – becoming a drug dealer. I think it takes a lot of guts to do what she does – to throw away her respectable life and put her daughter's life in danger. What drives her to make this choice?
We see a pretty ordinary housewife, cooking breakfast for her family, working part-time, and creating a cozy home. She's involved in her daughter's life and loves her husband. She's even got a girlfriend. It's all very relatable. But then she finds this crazy way out of her situation – a way that only a few people would be brave enough to take. Did she regret her decision? I don't think so. She's set her sights on something, and she's determined to reach it. Sure, it's against the law, but she's doing it for her family.
What's the deal with the hero? He's a talented artist and a total charmer. You'd think he's living his best life. But it turns out, all his problems are rooted in his past. What did he do to end up in juvenile detention? He's got a goal in mind that he's been working towards for 10 years now, and he can't afford to mess up. And teaming up with Yn Su gives him a chance to share his burden. They're already walking a thin line, and one wrong move could mean death or a lifetime behind bars.
Will they find a way to overcome their problems, or will they get caught by the law? The police are hot on their tail, and their loved ones are out to get them. But they're doing it all for the sake of love, redemption, and the chance to see pride and approval in their loved ones' eyes.
Drama On Thin Ice / Yoon Su's Lucky Day ReviewsI think it takes someone who's been in a tough spot themselves to truly understand these characters. It's not easy, and not everyone can relate. What really stood out to me was Yn Su's resilience. She's got a flexible and adventurous mind, but it turns out that's not exactly what anyone needs – she got fired from her job at the bank, after all.
The plot grabs you from the very first scenes. Who would have thought that a stay-at-home mom and an art teacher's wife would become a drug dealer? The ending left me a bit puzzled – it's not explicitly stated, and you can actually piece it together yourself.
Drama On Thin Ice / Yoon Su's Lucky DayYou start wondering if your loved ones will ever appreciate the sacrifices you make for them. In this case, it's like, who cares what happens to the people around you? The neighbors, the community – it's all just background noise. What really matters is your family. And to understand that, you've got to see this drama through to the end. I'm not sure if it'll surprise you or not, but it definitely surprised me.
Drama On Thin Ice / Lucky Day In Su Review I've sworn off binge-watching dramas, but sometimes it's pure bliss when you're eagerly waiting for each new episode. This drama is one of the few in recent times that's really touched my heart. The storyline's a bit of a stretch, but it's based on real life - albeit an extreme situation. What I love is how the family relationships are portrayed honestly. You've got two extremes: love and harmony, and then just superficial status. And the end result is pretty much the same. I loved everything about this drama, from the casting to the overall picture to the ending.

Drama On Thin Ice / Lucky Day In Su Review
One of the best dramas I've seen in a while. It tackles situations that could really happen in real life. And with every crime, there's always a consequence. Some people face the law, while others spend their whole lives trying to make peace with their conscience. It's tough, but life's not a walk in the park
and only we decide how to navigate that journey.
