The Vacuum Exercise Rollercoaster: A Second Chance

Vacuum Abdominal Exercise

I've tried a bunch of core exercises, but this one's a total game-changer. It's super easy to use, and I love how it helps you engage that tricky transverse abdominis muscle - which, let's be real, is key to improving your posture and overall core strength. I've noticed a big difference since I started doing it regularly.

The Vacuum Exercise Rollercoaster: A Second Chance

summarizeEditor's Summary

I'll be the first to admit it - I was skeptical about the Vacuum Exercise Rollercoaster at first. But after giving it a second chance, I'm hooked. This thing is a beast when it comes to getting a full-body workout in no time. I've tried other exercise machines, but this one's got a unique combination of features that make it stand out from the crowd. From the adjustable resistance to the ergonomic design, it's clear the manufacturers put thought into creating a product that's both effective and user-friendly. Of course, like any exercise equipment, it's not perfect, but I'm impressed with the value for money and the overall build quality. If you're looking to mix up your workout routine or get back into shape, I'd definitely recommend giving the Vacuum Exercise Rollercoaster a shot.

I'm not sure if anyone will even read this review, but I'm gonna write it anyway, just in case it helps someone.
2020: The Year of Vacuum Frenzy
I got introduced to vacuum exercises during the pandemic in 2020, when everyone was suddenly into fitness and self-improvement. Every second blogger was raving about the benefits of this miracle exercise, and I was no exception. I mean, who wouldn't want a flatter stomach in just 5 minutes a day? I'm lazy, so I was all in.
After watching a bunch of videos, I decided to give it a shot. But before I started, I had to check out the list of contraindications. Let's just say it's not for everyone. Here are the main ones:
Vacuum exercises are not recommended for people with menstrual cramps, pregnancy, uterine diseases, acute infections of the abdominal organs and pelvic area, chronic digestive issues, thromboembolic disease, or cancer.
I had a gynecologist appointment around that time, and I asked her about the potential risks. She laughed and said there's no way vacuum exercises can cause uterine prolapse.
How to Do Vacuum Exercises
You can do them in any position: lying down, sitting, or standing. I prefer standing, with my hands on the table for support.
The order of the exercise is:
- Breathe out as much as you can
- Then, suck in your stomach as much as possible, pulling it towards your ribcage and spine
- Hold for 10-20 seconds
- Release and breathe in
Do it on an empty stomach, preferably in the morning.
How Many Sets?
I decided to do 5 sets, holding my breath for 10-12 seconds each. I also made sure to take 2-3 deep breaths between sets. I didn't want to hold my breath for too long, and I was a bit worried about my organs, to be honest.
Here's what my sucked-in stomach looked like – yeah, it's a weird sight:
From the side, it's a bit more flattering:
And here's what it looks like from the side – yeah, I'm not getting a perfect vacuum, but that's okay:
Now, the most important part.
The Effect
Here's the thing: I did see some results in 2020 – my upper stomach got flatter, but the lower part remained the same. I mean, I didn't exactly get the effect I was going for.
I did this exercise for about 6 months, then I stopped. But here's the thing: when I stopped, my upper stomach went back to its original shape. So, I guess there's some credit to be given to vacuum exercises.
2025: A Second Chance
Why am I doing vacuum exercises again? Well, I'm still lazy, and I don't want to lose weight. But I do want to maintain this nice line on my stomach – you know, the one that's not a perfect vacuum, but still looks nice:
I'm doing it the same way as before – 5 sets, 10-12 seconds each. I'm doing it in the morning, on an empty stomach. I even started drinking water without lemon – yeah, I know, it's a weird habit.
So, who else is still doing vacuum exercises, or is it a relic of the past?
