The Red, Elusive, and Long-Awaited Doll. I Needed It When It Disappeared from Every Shelf. Full Review.

Today I'm reviewing a doll that I've been searching for a long time. The story behind this doll is a great example of how sometimes when you really want something, it finds you. I've been a fan of Barbie dolls for a while, and I already had two of them. One was a Barbie pink top that I bought for my daughter's birthday. It's funny that in my previous review, I was complaining about the drawing of this doll's red yoga outfit. Now, the doll's head is long gone, and on its body, I have Fashionistas 81. My second Barbie was Joyce MTT, which I begged from my favorite colleagues. And then, I really needed Asha, a dark-skinned doll, and Lea, a dark-skinned doll, and this red yoga doll. And, as if by law of bad luck, as soon as I wanted the red yoga doll, it was nowhere to be found in stores. I could've bought it on Ozon for 6,000 rubles, but that was too expensive. I started searching for it on Avito and in VK groups. On Avito, there were two instances where the seller either disappeared or refused to send it to me by mail for my account. Or, the doll was available, but by the time I was ready to buy it, it was gone. In the end, the doll appeared at my favorite intermediary's place. It's funny that I joined his group specifically to look for this doll, the red yoga doll. In the end, I bought several dolls from him, but I never got the yoga doll. I was on the lookout for it for over a year, and then, my husband surprised me by buying it for me. He knew how much I wanted it, and it was 100% worth the search.

This is me, happy and satisfied. I just picked it up from the post office.

Unfortunately, this doll is no longer in production. You can try to find it through intermediaries, search on Avito, Yula, and Beby, or order it on Amazon.

♥️Cost

of the doll depends on the seller's greed. We got it for 2550 rubles, which I think is a fair price for a doll that's no longer in production.

♥️Unpacking.

On the front side, at the bottom, it's written that this is a part of the series and the brand. And, of course, a warning that children under 3 years old shouldn't play with this doll.

On the back, there are three dolls from this series. But no Ashi or Leia.

In the description, there's an important note that these dolls can't stand up on their own.

To remove the doll from the box, I recommend using nail clippers. There are a lot of small clips to cut.

Under the doll, there's an interesting back with scenes from the Made to Move series. It's designed to show off the doll's poseability.

I'll start describing the doll from top to bottom, as usual.

♥️Hair

on this doll is super soft. It's a reddish color, and the length is up to the middle of the back. The cut is uneven. Initially, the hair was pretty flat, so I had to wash it a few times to get it to lie flat.

The doll has a side part. More or less, there's just more hair on one side, and it's straight.

I don't have any complaints about the hair's weave quality or density.

♥️The doll's mold

is Generation Girl Closed Mouth, or GG Closed Mouth for short.

The mold is relatively young, dated 2010. The imprint on the back of the head confirms this.

♥️I've got to say, the makeup on this doll is gorgeous!

She's got a cute little square chin. The soft pink lip gloss is so pretty. Her dreamy half-smile is really beautiful. The adorable freckles on her cheeks are a nice touch. Her little nose is perfectly proportioned, and her eyes are big and dark brown.

♥️I've given my doll a name, and I've called her Alice.

♥️The doll's body is made for posing, or as they call it, 'Boundless Movement'. The body is a standard build and height. My doll stands at 28 centimeters tall.

♥️The articulation on this doll is amazing!

Double hinges in the elbows and knees allow for smooth posing. You can sit the doll down comfortably and reach its face with ease. The hinges do require some development when first used, but they work smoothly afterwards.Ball-and-socket hinges in the thighs and biceps allow for a wide range of motion. You can pose the doll in all sorts of positions, like the lotus position or on a balance beam.The arms and legs can be bent and twisted in all directions. This is standard for most fashion dolls, including Barbie.There are hinges in the wrists and ankles, allowing for a more realistic range of motion. The ankle hinge also allows for both high heels and flat shoes.The head can be turned, tilted, and fixed in place.The torso hinge allows for the doll to be posed in a variety of positions.

The doll can reach its face with its hands.

The fingers are nicely detailed, with realistic-looking nails.

Ankles joints.

I noticed that Alice's feet are made of rubber. All my MTM dolls have plastic feet. I try to be more careful with a rubber foot. I think it's easier to break.

On the back of the doll, there's a stamp with the country of origin. And there's a unique tattoo with the doll's article number.

❤️Skin tone

is light, with a subtle pink undertone. It's a unique skin tone that doesn't match anyone else. It's not a common skin tone.

❤️Outfit

is super simple, just like all the yogis. Black, short pants and a top that's a bit of a tease. The top is blue with orange.

Alice, like all my dolls, tried out different outfits. She looks great in a lot of them.

Here she is with the first spring leaves.

It's the time of year when the trees are in bloom. I love May, it's the most beautiful month of the year.

I have to admit, there's nothing like a hot summer day to make you want to shed your clothes.

And then there she is with Clarissa - Barbie Fashionistas 141.

This doll was definitely worth the wait and the search. It's a great reminder that if you really want something, it will eventually become yours.

This was one of my top wishlist items. Along with Fashionistas 141, Blonde Ken, Pazett BMR1959, and Barbie Puma.

I still have many more wishlist items, plenty of unopened dolls, and plenty of reasons to write A New Doll Story.
