I'm a huge fan of sci-fi, thriller, and horror TV shows. Recently, I stumbled upon a series called The Divide online, and I was drawn to its high ratings and intriguing description. I decided to give it a shot, and in this review, I'll share some key moments and my thoughts on the series.
The Divide seriesSeries Name: The DivideGenre: Sci-fi, Thriller, Drama
Release Year: 2022 - present
Number of Seasons: 2
Country of Origin: USA
IMDB Rating: 8.2
Lumon Industries, a company, has come up with a new way to control their employees' daily activities - the 'procedure of division,' which separates work memories from personal ones. Mark agrees to the procedure but soon starts questioning his decision.
The Divide series premiered on Apple TV, and it's the second show I've watched from this platform (You can read about the first one here ). Both series are in the sci-fi genre, but they're vastly different in terms of meaning and content.
I've been diving into the Lumon Industries series, and it's all about the company's Division program. The idea behind Division is to separate work and personal memories. People who've gone through the process don't remember their lives at work, and when they're at work, they can't recall their personal lives.
The Division SeriesThe main character, Mark Scout , is a former history professor who underwent Division two years ago. His wife's passing was too much for him to handle, and working at Lumon allowed him to disconnect from reality for 8 hours a day.
The Division Series The Division SeriesThe Division procedure is irreversible. To separate a person's memories, a special chip is implanted in their brain.
The Split Series The Split Series The Split Series The Split Series So, a person's identity is essentially split into two separate parts - a work version and a normal one. The work version is called the intro, and the normal one is the extra. To switch between these versions, you need to head down to the Split floor. That's where all the people who've undergone the split procedure work. You'll have to leave all your personal belongings and anything that contains information about your extra or the outside world.
The Series 'Division' The Series 'Division'When you're riding the elevator, your personality changes - now you're in character.
The Series 'Division' The Series 'Division'Character intro can differ from its extra. You can see this with Mark. In real life, he's a sad, tired guy who's lost his spark. Sometimes, when I'm watching, it feels like he's even smiling sadly.
The Series 'Division'And his character intro, the working version, is more cheerful and calm. The Series "Division"Full name? Yeah, it's Mark Scout in the real world, but at work, he's Mark S.. Just the letter's left from his surname.
The Series "Division" Intro has no idea what life's like outside the office. For him, life is just his office. He doesn't know what the sky looks like, if he's got a family or friends, or what life's even like outside the office.
Could you work without knowing about your life? Or live without knowing about your job? And what's the actual work you do, anyway? These questions pop into your head while watching.
Mark S works in the Macro Data Processing department. He's got three colleagues in the office – Helly, Dylan, and Irving.

The Series "Division" Helly is the new girl in the department. She replaced Pitti, Mark's best friend who used to work there. The Series Division
The Series DivisionAt first glance, the setting looks like a regular office. People are sitting at their computers, sipping coffee, or chatting with each other. But, their job and its purpose are totally unclear to me.
The Series Division The Series Division The Series Division The Series Division The Series DivisionThey're grouping certain numbers on the computer that seem unrelated to each other. Even the intro doesn't explain what they're doing.
The Series Departure The Series Departure Honestly, I'm still not sure what the Lumon corporation is all about. I've watched the first season and four episodes of the second, but I still haven't got a clear answer. I think that's the main hook of the series.xa0
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE SERIES IF YOU'RE GOING TO WATCH IT:
The series is dark. This is a thriller. And the visuals aren't exactly bright. If you're looking for something positive and light, this isn't it.
The Series Departure The Series DepartureIt's like a light psychedelic experience. It's like they've combined two things that don't normally go together. The dark visuals and the bright, unnatural smiles, plus the cartoonish decorations. Sometimes you can watch a scene and still have no idea where it's coming from or how it fits into the rest of the series. All in all, it's like a light 'brain explosion'.

What I Liked About Series "Division":✅ The Unconventional Storyline. Series "Division" is quite different from many others in its genre. The dark atmosphere and light psychedelic scenes make it stand out. Sometimes the storyline takes unexpected turns, which makes it even more interesting to watch.
✅ The Presence of Mysteries and Secrets. This is one of the main reasons I love watching series like this. As you watch, new details and secrets are slowly revealed, keeping you engaged and curious to find out what's hidden.
✅ The Music. It perfectly complements the atmosphere of the series. The soft background melody reminds me of "Inception."
✅ The Acting. I appreciate how the actors deliver their performances. Many of them have to play dual roles, and you can immediately notice the difference. The same goes for Mark, the main character, who is different in both his introverted and extroverted states.
✅ The Atmosphere. I'm a fan of dark atmospheres in series, and "Division" delivers. It's one of those series that draws you in and keeps you engaged.
✅ The Intellectual Aspect. "Division" is a thought-provoking series that explores the idea of the mind playing tricks on itself. It's fascinating to watch and think about how the human brain works.
