Editor's Summary
I recently picked up a jar of pickles from my parents' village store to try something new. These Russian-made pickles are indeed sour, but they fell flat for me in terms of flavor and overall experience. I was expecting a bit more zing, but unfortunately, they just didn't deliver. The jar size is a nice touch, though - 680 grams is perfect for a family snack. I found these pickles at the Aisberg supermarket, but they're not widely available, which might be a drawback for some. All in all, I'd say they're not worth the hassle.

Not My Fave: These Sour Pickles Fell Flat for Me
I recently picked up a jar of pickles from my parents' village store to try something new. We were out of cucumbers at home, so I figured I'd give these a shot.
I found these pickles at the Aisberg supermarket - haven't seen them anywhere else.
The jar weighs 680 grams, which is a nice size for a family snack.
They're made in Russia, which is cool, but not really a selling point for me.
The expiration date is 2 years from now, which is pretty impressive.
The label on the jar has some useful info about the product - the font is easy to read, so you can check it out in the store.
When I opened the jar, I was expecting a nice, crunchy pickle. But what I got was something entirely different.
The pickle composition is great - just dill and horseradish, which is perfect for me. The spices are finely chopped, so they should give the pickles a nice flavor and texture.
The jar is sealed with a euro lid, which took some effort to open. When I finally cracked it open, I heard a pop, which meant the pickles were sealed properly.
As soon as I opened the jar, I caught a whiff of that strong vinegar smell - and it was a warning sign.
When I took a closer look, I saw the pickles were small and soft, but not mushy. Inside, they were dense with no air pockets, but just too soft for my taste.
We tried them for dinner, but my kid refused to eat them. We ate a few, but the rest went into a salad because they were just too sour.
To be honest, I was really disappointed with these pickles. They weren't what I was expecting, and the sourness was just too much for me.
I wouldn't recommend these pickles to anyone who likes a good balance of flavors.
Overall, I was expecting a nice, crunchy pickle, but what I got was a soft and sour pickle that didn't quite hit the spot.
While the pickle composition is great, the texture and flavor just didn't work for me.
Maybe I just got a bad batch, but I wouldn't recommend these pickles to anyone who's looking for a classic pickle taste.
For the price, I was expecting a lot more - but unfortunately, these pickles fell flat for me.
So, if you're a fan of sour pickles, you might enjoy these. But if you're looking for something a bit more balanced, you might want to keep looking.
