- To be honest, I was a bit disappointed with the initial results – they didn't seem to be doing a great job of cleaning my dishes.
- I've noticed that the tablets can be a bit harsh on some of my more delicate items.
- The packaging could be a bit more sustainable – I'd love to see Somat switch to biodegradable materials.
- I've had some issues with the tablets not dissolving properly in the dishwasher.
- The price is definitely a bit steeper than I'd like, but like I said, they're worth it in the long run.

Editor's Summary
I've been on the hunt for a good and affordable dishwasher tablet, and I gotta say, these Somat All in 1 Extra tablets are a game changer. I've tried cheaper options before, but they just didn't cut it when it came to cleaning really dirty dishes. These tablets, on the other hand, have impressed me with their ability to get the job done. Of course, they're pricier than the cheap stuff, but trust me, they're worth every penny.
Specifications
I've been on the hunt for a good and affordable dishwasher tablet in recent times. I used to rely on cheap liquid gels, but the results were never impressive. Then I switched to tablets, but I decided to start with the cheaper ones. Let's just say they didn't quite cut it when it came to cleaning really dirty dishes. So, I figured it was time to try out the popular and pricier options, keep an eye out for sales, and see what all the fuss is about.
That's how I ended up with these Somat All in 1 Extra tablets back in late spring.
***Somat All in 1 Extra Dishwasher Tablets***
Price: A pack of 85 tablets usually costs around 1500 rubles, but you can sometimes snag them on sale for cheaper, which is what I did. I paid 900 rubles.
Where to buy: You can find them in stores and online marketplaces.
Quantity: I have 85 tablets, but you can buy more or less. The price difference isn't always noticeable, so it's worth checking.
Shelf life: 24 months
I've never used Somat products before, so this is my first time trying them out. For 900 rubles, I think I got a great deal – 85 tablets is usually a lot more expensive. And let's be real, budget-friendly tablets that do an okay job usually cost around 250 rubles for 30 tablets.
Somat All in 1 Extra dishwasher tablets contain 10 active ingredients that provide excellent cleaning for your dishes, even the toughest messes like dried-on food, and take care of your dishwasher. Sparkling clean dishes with minimal effort from Somat!
Appearance
The packaging is pretty standard: a big polyethylene bag. To open it for the first time, you need to tear off the top. Then it zips shut.
I didn't count the tablets, but I'm pretty sure there are 85 in the pack.
Each tablet is wrapped in a waterproof plastic film.
The tablets are actually pretty nice-looking – red with a blue spot. But, to be honest, I'm not sure what the point of that is. Are they just colored? Can't they just be white?
I have to say, the scent is there, but I'm not sure what it is. It's just some kind of chemical.
Ingredients:
15-30% chelating agent, inorganic salts; 5-15% oxygen-releasing bleach, phosphonates, polycarboxylates; <5% non-ionic surfactants, TAED, polymer, enzymes, fragrance (including lemon, citral, and benzyl alcohol), colorant, preservative
My experience with using them:
I don't use these tablets for a short wash cycle. Honestly, I'm not a fan of short cycles. I think it's hard for dishes to get properly cleaned in under 30 minutes. I usually run my dishwasher on 65 degrees for 2 hours.
I always make sure to add salt and rinse aid to my dishwasher.
Before loading my dishes, I usually give them a quick rinse under the faucet if there's any leftover food. If I don't, some piece of lettuce might be stuck to the dish and cause problems during the wash cycle. It's just easier to get it off right away.
When my dishes are loaded, I put the tablet in the designated compartment. The compartment needs to be dry, or I'll wipe it down. It's all about following the instructions, you know? Some people might have issues with the tablets not dissolving, but I've never had any problems.
Most of the time, they dissolve just fine if you follow the process. Like, if the tablet gets stuck to the compartment or the compartment doesn't open properly because the dishes are loaded haphazardly... yeah, that's just user error. The instructions for any dishwasher are pretty straightforward.
I've never had any surprises with these tablets, just like I haven't with any other brand. Everything's been fine.
As for the wash results...
They're way better than a lot of other tablets out there. Stainless steel comes out sparkling, and greasy food gets cleaned off no problem. Of course, there have been instances where something didn't get cleaned, but that's usually because it was stuck on in the first place. Overall, these tablets do their job pretty well.
I've got to say, this little pot is getting on in years, and it's not exactly shining anymore. But the new one? It's a whole different story - it's sparkling.
I was actually thinking of buying another pack of these tablets, but then I read some reviews on the marketplaces and changed my mind. The thing is, I think I've still got an old batch left over. I bought these tablets back in May 2024, and all the newer reviews are screaming about how the manufacturer has changed, the tablets have a different shape, and they're not doing the job as well at the same price.
Gotcha...
But I'm still giving it five stars, just with that little caveat.
Overall:
you can grab them on salethey do a great job of cleaningthe tablet coating is water-solublethe smell when you open the lid isn't the worstI guess the only downside is that it's been almost a year since I bought these tablets, and judging by all the reviews, the formula and packaging have changed, which means they're not cleaning as well as they used to.
But since I've still got the old tablets, I'm reviewing those. I think it's one of the best cleaning products for PMM that I've tried.
Five stars,
Thanks for reading!
