A Supplement That's Been a Total Game-Changer for My Joints
As I'm getting older, I've noticed that my joints are starting to feel the strain. I've got aches and pains in all the wrong places, and it's getting harder to ignore them. Along with the meds my doctor prescribed, I've been taking various supplements to help manage the pain.
I've got a routine down pat: omega, iron, calcium, magnesium, and glucosamine with chondroitin. I take glucosamine with chondroitin twice a year to prevent inflammation in my knee joints, which have been giving me trouble for a few years now.
I don't really have any specific preferences when it comes to supplements – I just buy whatever catches my eye based on the description and customer reviews.
Today, I'm talking about a product from SOLAB.
SOLAB Glucosamine + Chondroitin + MSMProduct Name: SOLAB Glucosamine + Chondroitin + MSM, triple strength formulaManufacturer: OOO "VinLab Nutrishop" in KrasnodarForm: capsulesShelf Life: 24 months.Hondroprotector. Maintains good joint and ligament health under stress. Exerts anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects.
I was drawn to this product because it contains not only the familiar chondroitin and glucosamine, but also a new ingredient for me – MSM. As the saying goes, two ingredients are good, but three are even better. Plus, this product has nearly 20,000 reviews and a high rating. If everyone's buying it, I must need it too.
I bought it at an online store for 490 rubles.
The bottle was fully sealed in polyethylene.
The packaging for SOLAB is pretty standard – it comes in a plastic bottle with a screw-top lid. There's no separate instruction manual, all the info is right on the bottle.
That's where we find out what it's for, how much to take, and all that jazz.
Three active ingredients and some helpful extras.
The SOLAB formula:
D-glucosamine sulfate sodium chloride, chondroitin sulfate, methylsulfonylmethane, gelatin capsule (gelatin, zinc oxide - colorant), microcrystalline cellulose (anti-caking agent).
I was curious about what MSM is and why it's recommended to take it with chondroitin and glucosamine.
MSM is involved in various biological processes, such as:
Improved cellular membrane permeability helps oxygen and nutrient absorption, releases toxins trapped in cells, and boosts overall health.Collagen and keratin production support – MSM works with vitamin C to enhance skin and hair health.Joint cartilage restoration – MSM is essential for producing glycosaminoglycans, the building blocks of connective tissue, tendons, and synovial fluid.Anti-inflammatory effect – MSM reduces swelling and pain by promoting healthy joint function.Antioxidant properties – by participating in glutathione production, MSM helps minimize oxidative damage, slows down the aging process, and boosts immune function.I'm familiar with the effects of glucosamine and chondroitin, having taken them for years. Essentially, they replace the synovial fluid that our bodies produce less of with age, causing joints to work on dry, worn-out surfaces – hence the creaks and pains in my knees.
The cap is designed to protect the capsules from accidental opening, and kids can't open the bottle by chance – you need to press the cap and then unscrew it.
There's also a protective foil.
The bottle contains 90 capsules, designed for a course of treatment.
The capsules are medium-sized, odorless, and contain a white, powdery substance inside.
I've been taking three capsules a day to make sure my joints get the chondroitin and glucosamine they need. It doesn't matter if I take one in the morning, one at lunch, or all three at once.
It's a good idea to take them with a meal, so I take mine with lunch, all at once.
At first, I was pretty diligent about taking them for the first couple of weeks, but then I started to get lazy and would forget sometimes. If that happened, I'd catch up in the evening.
The formula is spot on, so the daily dose of three capsules contains the right amount of stuff.
Before this, I was taking a similar supplement from another brand, and it only had 40% of the necessary ingredients in the recommended daily dose. I guess they figured I'd get the rest from my diet. Yeah, right. If I was eating like I should be, I wouldn't have any deficiencies in glucosamine and chondroitin, and my knees would be happy and quiet.
My knees usually give me trouble 2-3 times a year, especially the right one. When the inflammation in my joints flares up, my knees hurt and feel like they're locked up, making it hard to walk.
I started taking these supplements to prevent that from happening, and it's been working. I also use a topical cream to rub on my knees at night, like Sustamol or Viprosal. If my knees do start acting up, I'll use diclofenac – it's more effective. Most of the time, I'm able to avoid flare-ups. My knees still creak a bit when I walk, but at least they're not hurting.
I didn't experience any weird side effects from taking Solab, and it didn't affect my digestive system at all.
I didn't get any instructions on whether it's safe to take with other meds, so I just took it without worrying about it.
It's not a magic pill, but this supplement has been a game-changer for my joints. If you're dealing with severe pain, you should see a doctor and get proper treatment. But supplements like this can be helpful for supporting your joints and preventing further damage.
I've got a bunch of issues with my spine, including herniated discs, spinal stenosis, and osteochondrosis. I was hoping that Solab might help with that, but unfortunately, it didn't make a difference.
The main benefit I got from taking chondroitin and glucosamine was that my joints didn't hurt as much. If I forget about my knees, that's a good sign that the supplement is working.
Solab didn't let me down, so I can recommend it with a clear conscience.
This is a good supplement with a well-thought-out formula. I would have preferred to take just one big capsule instead of three, but that's not a deal-breaker.
