  • There are tons of tiny sparkles that catch the light.
  • It's not sticky at all, which is a major plus.
  • The scent is super subtle and not overpowering.
  • It's incredibly easy to apply and blends seamlessly into the skin.
  • The texture is like water – it's so smooth and silky.
  • It's perfect for all skin types, including sensitive skin.

cancelCons

  • The formula could be a bit more robust – it's a bit too sheer for my liking.
  • It doesn't last as long as I'd like – it starts to fade after a few hours.
  • The packaging could be more eco-friendly.
  • It's a bit pricey for what you get.
  • It's not suitable for everyday wear – it's a bit too sparkly for that.

Hello, amazing readers 🫶✨

I'm all about shining bright on New Year's Eve.

I remember when I was in school, I loved buying hair glitter polish and lip gloss with glitter before New Year's. And, of course, I had to have glitter eyeshadow too!

It's been a while since then, but I still haven't lost my love for glitter. I don't use it every day, but on New Year's, I'm totally obligated to cover myself from head to toe in something sparkly 😅

Today, I'm going to share with you my thoughts on a pretty decent body shimmer from a well-known jewelry brand.

Here's the basic info:

Product name – 24 GOLD BODY SHIMMER

Shimmer for body "Sparkling"

For what type of skin? Suitable for all skin types!Shimmer series ⬇️

Colloidal gold, jojoba oil, peach kernel oil, passion fruit extract, and beeswax

What a great combination of beneficial extracts for the skin!

Brand - Sokolov

Manufacturer – OOO "STM Expert"

Produced in Russia, in Moscow.

Volume of the bottle – 130 ml.

Shelf life – 36 months from the date of manufacture.

After opening the bottle, the shimmer can be stored for up to 12 months.

This cosmetic product is not tested on animals.

Where to buy - I ordered it on the OZON marketplace.

You can buy the shimmer separately, which will cost around 400 rubles, or as part of a set. I got an amazing holiday set for a thousand rubles or so ⬇️

I'm absolutely loving this stunning set!Product code on OZON - 1166431214

Product description from the manufacturer ⬇️

I've gotta say, the SOKOLOV shimmering body spray is a total game-changer. It's like a sparkly, glittery dream come true! The shimmering spray gives you an incredible glow and wraps you in a fresh, tropical scent. The gold particles in the formula leave your skin looking soft and mysterious. This body care product does it all - it's a comprehensive treatment for your skin. The colloidal gold in the spray helps stimulate collagen production, making your skin look noticeably younger. Jojoba oil deeply nourishes and smoothes, while peach kernel oil hydrates and restores even the driest skin. Passionfruit extract calms and supports skin health, and citric acid makes it more elastic and supple. SOKOLOV's cosmetics will help you create a unique style and highlight your individuality.

Packaging

The bottle wasn't packaged in a cardboard box or bag. It was sold as is.

Bottle

The bottle is a sleek, cylindrical shape made of dense, transparent plastic. The design is super minimalist - just a classic, black font on the label with no patterns or designs on the bottle itself. I love how SOKOLOV keeps things simple and elegant!Check out the back of the bottle for the ingredient list and more info.

Now, let's take a closer look at the ingredients.

Ingredients

aqua (water), propylene glycol, glycerin, hydroxyethyl urea, propanediol, betaine, PEG-40 hydrogenated castor oil, fluorphlogopite, pullulan, passiflora incarnata (passionfruit) fruit extract, peach kernel oil glycereth-8 esters, parfum, CI 77891, colloidal gold, chlorphenesin, polyvinylpyrrolidone, simmondsia chinensis (jojoba) seed oil, succinic acid, 1,2-hexanediol, caprylhydroxamic acid, CI 77491, sodium benzoate, citric acid, potassium sorbate, citral, hexyl cinnamal, limonene, linalool.

I know, I know - it's not exactly natural or organic, but I'll still check it out on the Ecologolik website.

Results ⬇️

I wasn't expecting things to be this okay, I guess! The eco-warrior in me is only knocking off four ingredients. I'll have to Google what's wrong with them. 1)

PEG-40 (often in the form of hydrogenated castor oil) is safe in cosmetics if produced properly, but can cause irritation and dryness on sensitive skin, increase the penetration of other substances, and potentially contain impurities like 1,4-dioxane and ethylene oxide, making it undesirable for natural cosmetics. The main issue is the disruption of the skin's lipid barrier, which can be tolerable for oily skin but harmful for dry and sensitive skin.

2)

Synthetic Mica (Synthetic Fluorphlogopite) in cosmetics is generally considered safe and non-toxic for consumers, giving a pearlescent glow and texture to products, but the main potential harm is related to the environment (poorly biodegradable), the risk of inadequate cleaning (heavy metal residues in natural products), and the possibility of mechanical irritation from coarse particles, as well as the danger of inhalation for production workers, not users. It's essential to buy high-quality certified cosmetics, as counterfeits may contain plastic or metal instead of mica.

3)

Chlorphenesin (Chlorphenesin) in cosmetics is considered a relatively safe preservative, but in high concentrations can cause skin, eye, and respiratory irritation; it's toxic if ingested, banned in natural cosmetics, but in allowed low doses provides protection against bacteria and fungi, preventing product spoilage.

4)

1,2-Hexanediol is a multifunctional organic compound (diol) widely used in cosmetics as a moisturizer, solvent, emulsifier, and antimicrobial agent, improving product texture and allowing for reduced preservative concentrations, safe for skin and non-comedogenic.

On the one hand, it's not all sunshine and rainbows, but on the other hand, the composition isn't as scary as I thought it'd be! No parabens, sulfates, or silicones, and that's a plus! I don't use shimmer every day, so I think the synthetic components in this formula won't have a negative impact on my skin and, more importantly, my health.

Spray

I was reminded of our beloved Russian nesting doll when I was getting to the sprayer. The sprayer is hidden behind two plastic caps - where did they come from?!

Let me show you how the sprayer works ⬇️

Unfortunately, it doesn't produce a huge, fine, weightless mist - instead, it shoots out a strong stream like a firehose, causing the tiny glitter particles to distribute unevenly on my skin, which I'm not a fan of! I had the thought of transferring the shimmery glitter to a different bottle with a better sprayer!

Organoleptics

It's time to talk about the consistency, texture, and scent of the shimmery glitter.

It's liquid like water, which makes sense since we're dealing with a body spray with glitter particles. The texture is light and airy, like a mist. There's no stickiness, greasiness, or unpleasant oiliness.

Scent.

Honestly, I don't like it - it's definitely not for everyone!

It's hard to describe the scent, but I can pick up on fruity notes and the smell of nail polish remover!

Luckily, the scent doesn't linger on my skin for long after application - it disappears instantly.

How to use the shimmery glitter:

Shake the bottle well before use. Spray the shimmery glitter onto clean, dry skin at arm's length.

Yes, you have to shake the bottle well, or the glitter particles will settle at the bottom!

My impressions of the shimmery glitter.

I use it 2-3 times a week, just because I feel like it! I grab the bottle, press the sprayer, and try to distribute the product evenly on my skin.

Let me show you how it looks.

My legs ⬇️

Wow, check out that shine - it's like I'm wearing golden tights! It's really effective! Now, let me show you the shine on my neck and chest ⬇️

I'm totally obsessed with this golden glow! My inner diva is super happy!

Check out this sparkle... okay, I did get it a bit dirty on my dress.

My tip: Spray the shimmer on your skin first, let it dry a bit, and then get dressed!

Where do I apply the shimmer? I apply it to my arms, legs, neck, and chest. I'll also use it on my shoulders during the summer.

I wouldn't dare spray it on my face, though – it'd look weird, and the formula isn't suitable for my sensitive skin.

I caught myself thinking that this shimmer would be amazing on a sun-kissed body, but it looks pretty great on my pale skin, too!

How does my skin react to the shimmer?

No allergic reactions, itchiness, redness, or discomfort – yay!

Care

The formula includes some great ingredients:

Colloidal goldJojoba oilRosehip oilMangosteen extractBeeswaxLogically, the spray should moisturize my skin, at least a bit.

Unfortunately, I didn't notice any significant moisturizing effect – just a tiny bit.

No skin nourishment, either.

Turgor didn't improve, and my skin tone didn't even out. I can't say the shimmer had any impact on my skin's appearance – it's still the same.

The main thing is that it didn't make it worse.

As it turns out, I consider this shimmer more of a decorative product than a skincare one.

How do I remove the shimmer from my skin? No issues there – I just head to the shower, use a small amount of body wash, and scrub myself clean.

The glitter comes off easily!

Usage. This is a major plus – the shimmer from Sokolov lasts a long time, and the product doesn't get used up quickly.

My verdict. To wrap up this review, I just want to say that I'm totally in love with this spray!

This golden shimmer is perfect for New Year's or any other celebration – or just for a night out.

This shimmer would make an amazing gift for someone else or yourself!

I'd give this shimmer a solid 5 stars! I highly recommend it for purchase! Thanks so much for reading, everyone!
