Slavic Express

I've tried a few transportation services, but Slavic Express is my go-to for hassle-free travel. Their prices are super reasonable, and the service is always reliable. Plus, the team is super helpful when you need them.

A Quick Ride to Ryazan: My Experience on the Slavic Express

summarizeEditor's Summary

I've taken the Slavic Express bus from Moscow to Ryazan over 10 times, and my latest ride in June 2025 was a mixed bag. The bus departs from the Kotel'niki bus station, which is just a 3-5 minute walk from the metro. I bought my ticket on the company's official website for 900 rubles, but be aware that prices can vary depending on the platform – I've seen them go up to 1040 rubles on Yandex. While the bus has a decent route network and is generally punctual, there are some drawbacks to consider, like the power outlets not always working and the bus getting crowded during peak hours.

I recently took the Slavic Express bus from Moscow to Ryazan in June 2025, and I'm excited to share my experience with you. I've been taking this route with this company for years - I've lost count, but it's over 10 times now.
I bought my ticket on the company's official website for 900 rubles (one-way, adult). If you buy on other websites, like Yandex, the ticket price is 1040 rubles. The bus departs from the Kotel'niki bus station. If you're taking the metro, get off at the first wagon heading towards Kotel'niki and follow the signs to exit 1.The bus station is just a 3-5 minute walk from the metro. You just head straight for about 5 minutes.
Most buses to Ryazan depart from platform 2 (but it's always best to double-check).
The buses always leave on time, so it's a good idea to arrive 15-20 minutes early. The bus station itself isn't particularly impressive, but it's quiet and gets the job done.
When I boarded the bus, I needed to have my passport or my kid's birth certificate on hand. Without it, they won't let you on (we had a situation where they didn't even let us on with a copy of the certificate). You can either print out the ticket or show it on your phone. Each ticket is linked to a specific seat.
Boarding started at 08:07, and the bus left right on schedule at 08:15.
Sometimes the drivers make a technical stop (usually around Kolomna at a gas station). But not always. On this trip, we did make a stop for six minutes.
The buses aren't new, but everything works (or almost does). I deducted a star from my review for the cleanliness of the interior and exterior. No snacks or drinks are offered onboard. The air conditioning was working, and the temperature in the cabin was comfortable, around +16-17°C.
There's enough space between the seats for average-sized people. The first row has less legroom, but you do get a table.
The gap between the seats is a bit tight, but it's a bus, after all.
One thing that's worth noting about the overhead compartments is that they're not ideal for suitcases, but a sturdy backpack or duffel bag fits perfectly. I was pleasantly surprised when our bus arrived in Ryazan 25 minutes ahead of schedule. Of course, it was a summer morning, and we had an early departure, but it's still impressive. Delays are extremely rare. The Ryazan bus station building looks pretty sleek. Inside, you'll find shops, ticket counters, and even a restroom. The professionalism and smooth driving of the bus drivers are definitely something to appreciate. The main advantage of taking the bus to Ryazan over the express train is the convenient schedule and the numerous routes available. You can choose the perfect option for your needs from a wide range of options.
