Taking care of your skin is way easier said than done, trust me. I've been there, dealing with acne and skin issues for years.
I've been experimenting with different skincare routines for years, and I've finally found something that works for me.
I used to suffer from painful, deep-seated acne and tiny white bumps that were super frustrating to deal with. This is the only photo of me with these acne issues.
I think this photo is enough – I've got a thick layer of foundation on, but you can still see how problematic my skin was. My female relatives have the same issues, and they even leave behind scars after the acne clears up.I tried out a bunch of different salon treatments, but only one dermatologist actually gave me some real advice on how to get rid of my acne.
I went to see her once, and she barely touched me – she just applied some vitamin C to my acne spots. But my recovery really started when I followed her advice.
She told me to stop trying to squeeze out the contents of my acne, to let it sit deep and not mess with it. No need to constantly try to pop and clean it out. And the first thing I did after her advice was apply a small amount of zinc oxide to each spot, about twice a week, until all the scabs fell off.
This was a game-changer, and my goal became helping my skin clear up without any manual intervention. That's when I realized that my previous routine of using harsh chemicals, toners, and exfoliating scrubs was actually doing more harm than good.
How to get rid of blackheads at home Purifying and moisturizing! First, purify, then moisturize with a mask.
I also really loved this series from Visi ♥
I'll share other skin care products with you in a separate video on my Telegram channel ♥ write to me in private. It's hard to upload videos to this channel.
How to get rid of acne at home I still know where my problem areas are and I understand how I can bring back that greasiness under my skin...
if I start to pick at my face and if I start using drying products again. Before, I was always drying out my skin, but I should have been moisturizing.
How to get rid of blackheads at home My skin type hasn't changed – I have pores all over my face and blackheads don't leave my skin. What can I do?
Take care of and love it. I'll let you in on a secret: You can't get rid of blackheads for good. Only for a while, about 5 days, no more. After that, sweat and dust will do their dirty work again.
Living with oily skin that's sometimes dry is a real challenge. I mean, it's prone to redness, acne, and those pesky little bumps that just won't go away, no matter how hard you try. And sometimes, it's like my skin is playing a cruel joke on me - it's dry around the edges and oily in the center. It's especially bad during the late winter months.
And, yeah, I still get those pesky acne spots.
I've been using spot treatments with benzoyl peroxide, and it's been a game-changer. I mean, after having kids, I didn't get those pesky acne spots like I used to. Maybe having kids really did cure me of acne?
Some people with great skin have told me to ditch all my skincare products and just use baby wash. I mean, these girls have never had acne and have super small pores to begin with. They're just naturally blessed. I look at their skin and I'm like, 'Wow, how do you do it?' But that's not my skin type. Mine's a whole different story.I have noticeable pores all over my face, and my skin gets oily super fast, including my forehead. I also get those red and purple marks – cuperose. But even with this skin type, I've found a skincare routine that works for me, and I'm happy with how my skin looks. I mean, who says you can't have great-looking skin even if you have acne-prone skin?
I'm not about to get rid of my blackheads, and I don't stress about getting rid of every single one. If I want to clean my nose or dry out a spot, I'll use a clay mask.
I've got a few other favorite masks that I'll be sharing in my Telegram channel soon – be sure to follow me and send me a message!
I use one of these masks about once a week to keep my skin hydrated, glowing, and clean.
So, my daily skincare routine looks like this: Cleansing with a gentle, easy-to-use cleanser every day.
Toning.
Applying serum.
Eye cream.
Moisturizer.
I have two face washes, and I alternate between them every week.
Once a week, I use an enzyme powder to clean my skin.
And once a week, I use a chemical exfoliant to deep clean my pores.
It's become a routine for me now, and it doesn't feel like a hassle.
I've been using this product to remove makeup for three years, and when it was discontinued, I had to find a replacement. I'll be sharing my thoughts on the replacement soon – stay tuned for that! The best makeup remover doesn't change, just like the best product for removing makeup.
Taking care of my skin at home I've got a stash of stuff that I'm not even using yet, despite being a stay-at-home mom and all. I've got two toners still sealed, a new washcloth waiting to be used, and an enzyme powder just chillin' in the cupboard. I'll probably do a detailed video review on my Instagram channel and show you all the products in action. Food is a big deal for me. I break out in acne from eating too much Nutella, and when I'm indulging in chocolate, my skin starts to itch. So, I've been cutting back on sweets and focusing on smoothies and veggies instead.
I've got a bowl of veggies on my counter that I snack on throughout the day. And instead of indulging in sweets, I've been reaching for fresh fruit. I've been using this skincare routine for a while now, and I'm loving the results. Not only is my face clear, but my chest and back are also acne-free.
Of course, I can always recommend visiting a dermatologist, but until you find a routine that works for you, you might not need to see one as often. I tried professional treatments, but they didn't do much for my acne. Thanks for reading! I highly recommend taking care of your skin at home. As you can see, it's paid off for me ❤
34 years old I'll only go to a dermatologist if I decide to get lip fillers or a strong chemical peel or an alginate mask. I don't think I could do that at home, though ❤
Skin at 34 And, funnily enough, I used to do regular facials, but I've since sold my machine. My skin is now more sensitive to those kinds of treatments.
