Editor's Summary
I've gotta say, I'm obsessed with the Shik Cosmetics 'Glow Perfect Powder'. With its silky texture and natural finish, it's perfect for oily skin like mine. But is it really worth the hype? In this review, I'll share my honest thoughts on this popular powder and whether it lives up to the comparison to Hourglass.
Specifications
Hello everyone!
I'm super excited to share my thoughts on the Shik Cosmetics 'Glow Perfect Powder'. This product has been getting a lot of love from bloggers and makeup artists, and I've even seen it compared to Hourglass (which I don't agree with, and I'll explain why later).
I have oily skin, so I've got a pretty extensive collection of powders. But I just couldn't resist adding this one to the mix. And now that I've had it for a while, I'm ready to share my honest opinion and let you know who might love it and who might want to steer clear.
Packaging.
The packaging for Shik's skincare products is pretty standard - a sleek, glossy plastic case. And I've got to say, I love the look of it. It feels high-quality and expensive. But, I've got a few products from this brand, and they all look identical. The only way to tell them apart is by looking at the label on the bottom of the case. Otherwise, I've got no complaints about the packaging.
Shik Cosmetics 'Glow Perfect Powder'The powder itself comes in a standard, white box. Unfortunately, mine didn't survive the packaging process.
The case opens up to 180 degrees, and it's got a nice mirror inside that's covered in plastic.
Shik Cosmetics 'Glow Perfect Powder'The powder refill is securely attached and looks really nice and smooth.
Shik Cosmetics 'Glow Perfect Powder'I know some people have complained that the packaging is hard to open, but I haven't had any issues with it. The powder opens easily and closes with a nice click.

Manufacturer's description:
I'm obsessed with having a powder in my makeup bag, it's a must-have for any woman. It's the perfect base for a flawless look, and our baked matte powder is no exception. I've got super sensitive skin, but this powder is gentle and feels weightless on my face. It's a game-changer for evening out my skin tone and giving me a smooth, matte finish. Plus, it's super easy to apply and blend. The Shik Store powder is a total lifesaver for keeping my makeup in place all day. I love that it's got a fresh, natural-looking finish that's perfect for any skin type. It's a total must-have for anyone who wants a long-lasting, flawless finish. The light texture makes my skin look healthy and radiant, and it's got a super matte and smoothing effect that keeps my makeup looking fresh all day. It's perfect for all skin types, and it's got amazing staying power. I've been using it in the Light shade, which is perfect for my fair skin.

Mica, Zea Mays Starch / Zea Mays (Corn) Starch, Octyldodecyl Stearoyl Stearate, Silica, Dimethicone, Lauroyl Lysine, Caprylic/Capric, Triglyceride, Zeolit Benzyl Alcohol, Polyglyceryl- Diisostearate, Aqua / Water, Isododecane, Trimethylsiloxysilicate, Propanediol, Decyl Glucoside, Sorbic Acid, Dehydroacetic Acid, CI 77891 / Titanium Dioxide, CI 77491 / Iron Oxides, CI 77492 / Iron Oxides, CI 77499 / Iron Oxides.
Shades.
The powder comes in three shades: Light, Medium, and Light Medium. I've got the Light shade, which is perfect for my fair skin.
SHIK Cosmetics 'Glow perfect powder' face powder Daylight. I've found that this powder doesn't cake or look too heavy on my skin, which is a major plus. It's got a nice, subtle finish that blends in with my natural skin tone. If you're a bit darker, you might want to go for a shade that's a bit deeper - there are plenty of options to choose from, and I've heard great things about the darker shades. For most people, I think the Light Medium shade will be a good fit, but if you're a bit darker, you might want to go for the Medium shade. Some people even use this powder as a contouring product, which is a great idea - I haven't tried it myself, but I'm curious to see how it works.
Application and longevity.
I've got pretty oily, problem-prone skin, and I've found that a lot of powders can dry me out or accentuate my pores. But this powder is a game-changer - it looks great on my skin, even in the summer when my skin is at its oiliest. It's also really gentle and doesn't cake or settle into my fine lines and wrinkles.
I apply this powder with a big, fluffy brush, and I've found that it picks up just the right amount of product. I like to apply it in light, sweeping motions, but you can also use it to set your foundation or concealer for a more flawless finish. One thing to note is that this powder is a bit more dense than some of the other powders on the market, but that's actually a good thing - it means it lasts longer and doesn't get all over the place.
Compared to some of the other powders out there, like Hourglass, this one has a slightly coarser texture. But that's not necessarily a bad thing - it just means it's a bit more forgiving and easier to work with. And let's be real, who doesn't love a good excuse to try out a new powder?
Daylight and sunshine Daylight Artificial lightingI've gotta say, the difference isn't just visual (although it's definitely noticeable if you take a closer look). Hourglass powders are finishing powders, so they don't really matte or set your tone - they just photo-shop and give your skin a subtle glow. Shik, on the other hand, does an amazing job of matting even my oily skin, setting my tone, and looking super natural on my face. Plus, it's got a pretty minimal blurring effect (unfortunately, I didn't notice any highlighting).
That's exactly what I love about Shik. That's why I'm obsessed with this powder and don't see myself giving it up anytime soon. Shik might not be as blurring, radiant, or sheer as Hourglass, but it's a total game-changer because it's not just a finishing powder - it's a standalone product. So, when it's hot outside or I know I won't be able to touch up my makeup for a while, I reach for Shik. Sure, my oily skin might not get enough matting from Shik on a super-hot day, but let's be real - Moscow's summers are rarely scorching for more than two weeks, so it's not a huge deal.
I'm also loving the compact size, the packaging design, and the built-in mirror. It's perfect for tossing into a small clutch and touching up your makeup on-the-go. Plus, it doesn't make my face look like a layered cake when I apply it.
Longevity depends on your skin type and the temperature. On my oily skin, it doesn't last long in the heat (even with the most matte powder, I start to shine after a few hours). But on a mild summer day or in the winter, it's a total winner (although I usually opt for Hourglass in the winter because I can only wear their powders for special occasions).
When I'm wearing it, the powder feels amazing - it doesn't sink into my pores, cake on my skin, or pull my skin taut. It's like it's not even there.
It doesn't clog my pores or cause breakouts. It doesn't dry out or pull my skin tight, either. In fact, I use it to set my concealer under my eyes, which is a major problem area for me - most products dry out or accentuate the texture, but Shik looks amazing and doesn't irritate my skin at all.
Removing it is a breeze.
It's also super budget-friendly.

Artificial lighting Artificial lightingFinal verdict.
So, as promised, I can tell you who this powder is perfect for and who might want to look elsewhere.
From my perspective, it's ideal for girls with normal and combination skin. It's also great for mature skin, as it really helps to even out your complexion. And if you're looking for a good powder without talc, this is a great option.
But if you have dry skin, you might want to look for something a bit lighter and more moisturizing.
And if you have oily skin, I'd recommend this powder, but only if you're not expecting it to be super long-lasting and don't mind touching it up throughout the day.
