Hello everyone!
I'm not proud to admit it, but there was a time when I tried to be a social media influencer. It actually wasn't too bad, and I managed to gain 5,000 followers on TikTok in just a few months. The problem was, there wasn't much content about decent skincare products out there. People only want to watch videos about super relevant, super exciting topics, or they just won't watch at all. That's how my journey to finding interesting topics for my audience started.
Another issue I face is that, unlike many influencers, I can't recommend products I haven't tried myself. What if they're bad for you? What if they're even dangerous?! So, I tested out these miracle creams and diets on myself.
One of those diets, if I can even call it that, was Sassy Water. It's quick to make, and the results are promised to be almost instantaneous. By the way, I didn't mention in that video that I'd lost weight – I just shared some examples from the comments section. And I promised to share my own results a few days later. Oh boy, what happened next! 'You're all lying!' – and all sorts of other nasty comments. But that video ended up getting me a massive following, over a million views, and countless shares.
However, I never did end up sharing that promised video about my personal results. The thing is, I just couldn't stick to the diet for the required 4 days. The side effects were annoying, but not scary or anything. They just made me uncomfortable. I realized that this method just wasn't for me, and I had to give up on it.

In a nutshell:
Sassy Water is a super useful dietitian-approved vitamin cocktail that's perfect for hot summer days. I'm a big fan of this drink, which was created by Cynthia Sass, a well-known American dietitian who discovered all the amazing benefits of the ingredients and developed a special system for using the drink to boost fat burning and metabolism. I've seen Sassy Water feature in tons of diets aimed at creating a slim physique, but its unique properties make it great for other purposes too - like soothing and cleansing the digestive system, improving metabolism, and getting rid of excess fluid.
To put it simply, Sassy Water is a tasty and healthy drink that helps get rid of excess fluid and boosts your metabolism. Although, I did read somewhere that the whole metabolism thing is just a myth.
Original Recipe:
2 liters of water1 large lemon1 medium cucumber1 teaspoon of grated ginger roota few sprigs of mintxa0
My Take:
I tweaked the recipe a bit. I mean, a whole lemon is way too much for me, especially a big one. I use filtered water, not boiling, but high-quality filtered water since we have a water filtration system at home. Ideally, you should use spring water or purchase it from a trusted brand. I add a generous amount of mint - I just love it! A bit of ginger and cucumber complete the mix.
So, let's get started with the ingredients. Cucumber, lemon, mint, and ginger.
I start by chopping the cucumber into coin-sized slices, the lemon into small wedges - I even press on it a bit to get the juice out, and I tear the mint leaves into smaller bits. I grate the ginger on a microplane.
I'm lucky to have my own mint growing in the backyard, but since we also have some furry critters living there, I like to give it a quick scald with boiling water just in case. I don't fuss too much with the arrangement - I just chop it up randomly.
Since it's not exactly summer, I'm making everything in smaller doses just for the photo shoot. Don't mind that.
Next, I just toss all the ingredients into a container.
During the summer, I used a big, clear jug with a lid, but now I just use my favorite teapot. It's actually better if the container is transparent - it makes the whole process look really inviting. It's not a deal-breaker or anything, but it's just so visually appealing and it instantly puts me in a better mood. Then I add some clean water.
After that, it's just a matter of sticking it in the fridge for 10-12 hours. The easiest way to make this drink is to prep it at night and enjoy it the next day.
I'll be honest, after a while, the water isn't as visually appealing as it was initially. It starts to get a bit murky, and you can see the fibers from the lemon, for example. But that's not a big deal. The taste is amazing!

✿Drink Review✿
Consistency. As I mentioned earlier, the water isn't as clear and uniform as it was before. It's got fibers and whatnot, so it's probably a good idea to strain it before using it.
Aroma. The mint is really overpowering. I'm not sure if everyone gets this, but I added a lot of it, so maybe that's why. My water's got a strong mint-lemon scent going on. I really loved it.
Taste. I'm really enjoying the taste, to be honest. I know not everyone will have the same experience, but I've got pretty specific tastes. The flavor is really unique. The lemon stands out, there's a freshness from the mint, something weird from the cucumber, and a subtle spiciness from the ginger root. I'd happily drink this every day if it weren't for one major drawback.
✿Side Effects✿
Sorry to get into the details, but my body's pretty sensitive. I'm always running to the bathroom. Coffee? It's like, an hour goes by and I'm already there. Soda and alcohol are basically disasters. It's like my body just flushes everything out.
Same thing with this water. It's normal, I guess. The drink's supposed to help flush out excess fluids, but I imagine it's not as extreme for other people. If I did lose that one kilogram, it's only because I was basically running to the bathroom nonstop. That's just the fun side effect, and no need for any recharge.

✿Final Result✿
I'm not sure if it was just a fluke, but I did lose about a kilogram in a couple of days. My scales are pretty dodgy, though - they're the old-fashioned kind with a needle instead of numbers, so I'm not entirely sure how accurate they are. But I did feel pretty good, and there was a sense of lightness to me. Apart from that, it was nothing special and no 'wow' effect.
No major side effects were noticeable, but I'm just not a fan of this method. I didn't bother weighing myself after the initial loss, to be honest, because I knew I wouldn't be trying it again.
No water retention or anything like that was visible, and I was peeing a lot, which was kind of nice, I guess. I didn't feel like eating any more than usual, but I didn't experience any reduced appetite either.
✿Conclusion✿
I'd recommend this method to someone who's already on a diet or exercising regularly. Even the person who created this method says it's just one part of a comprehensive approach, not a standalone weight loss solution. It might also be suitable for someone who wants to lose a bit of weight quickly - the initial water loss will definitely help with that.
However, this method isn't for everyone, and if you have any underlying health issues, it's probably best to steer clear. Some people say you should drink the water for 4 days, while others claim it's more effective if you follow the creator's system. I did see a comment from someone who'd participated in a marathon and drunk this water for a much longer period, though - so apparently, some fitness trainers even recommend it.
Unfortunately, I couldn't test the full effectiveness of this method, but I think it would only work if combined with proper nutrition and exercise.
Overall, I'd recommend it - it tastes nice, smells good, and is refreshing, and it does give a small effect. But I'm not convinced it would help with significant weight loss.
