I had high hopes for my recent visit to this salon, but it ended up being a huge disappointment. I'd seen some decent reviews online, so I booked a combo manicure and pedicure, thinking it would save me time. Big mistake.
Things started off on the wrong foot when they moved my appointment by 30 minutes, and I showed up 15 minutes late. But it turned out I could've arrived an hour later and still not missed a thing. The pedicure got started right away, but the manicure took 40 minutes to kick off, and to make matters worse, the nail artist I was assigned to was already working on someone else's nails - not even finishing up, just taking on another client.
I thought the combo deal would be a time-saver, but what I got was a clear message that my time wasn't valued at all.
By the time they finally started the manicure, I was already in a bad mood. And things only got worse. The cuticles were cut too short, the nail shapes were all off, the gel was applied unevenly, and some areas were still wet. It looked like a hot mess. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry.
The pedicure, on the other hand, looked decent, but I'm still waiting to see how it holds up.
The worst part? I paid a whopping $4700 for this disaster. You'd think you'd leave a salon feeling relaxed and pampered, not with bloody fingers.
I was really hoping this place would live up to its potential, but after this experience, I'm not going back anytime soon. The poor customer service and blatant disregard for clients' time were a total turnoff.
I'm still trying to wrap my head around how a salon can get something as basic as a manicure so wrong. It's not like I'm asking for perfection, but at least a decent effort would be nice.
I'll give them credit where credit is due - the pedicure did look pretty good. But it's hard to shake off the feeling that my time and money were wasted.
