Hello everyone!
I'm always on the lookout for a good toner, so I'm sharing my thoughts on this one again. With the cooler weather rolling in, I wanted to try a toner with a creamy texture that would give my skin an extra boost of hydration.
I've been a fan of the Round Lab brand for a while now and have already tried some of their bestsellers, including their famous Dokdo toner from the Dokdo line. And it was this Soybean Nourishing toner that caught my eye, especially after trying their previous Dokdo toner, which I'll compare to this one later in the review.
► Price - around 1500 to 2000 rubles (depending on the retailer)
► Volume - 300ml
► Brand - Round Lab
► Country of origin - South Korea
► The toner came well-packaged in a cardboard box and has a good volume of 300ml, which should last me a while. I've been using it for a few months now, every day, and I still have half of it left, so the usage is excellent.
I was excited to dive into the details of this toner, but unfortunately, all the info is in Korean. So, let me give you the lowdown. This toner is suitable for all skin types and its main job is to hydrate and create a protective barrier that prevents moisture loss. Exactly what I was looking for – a powerful hydrating product with a liquid milk texture, perfect for the colder months.
This toner with black soybean extract is packed with nourishing ingredients, providing deep hydration, a powerful soothing effect, and eliminating irritation, dryness, and redness while regulating the skin's hydrolipidic balance. It has anti-aging properties, reduces wrinkle depth, and prevents new ones from forming, smoothes out the skin's texture, increases elasticity, and gives it a natural glow. The product has a gentle creamy texture, absorbs quickly, and instantly nourishes the skin without leaving any residue or greasiness.
Deep nourishmentAnti-age effectHealthy glowThe black soybean extract from Chonsong is rich in isoflavones, which protect the skin from hormonal aging. Keramid NP increases the strength of the protective barrier and creates a water-retaining layer that prevents dehydration. Adenosine rejuvenates the skin and prevents the formation of wrinkles and skin creases.
► It looks a bit unconventional for a toner. Usually, toners are completely transparent, but this one has a color reminiscent of oat milk. In terms of consistency, it's completely familiar – a watery texture.
I've found that this toner comes out in a decent amount. I use it the usual way, just spreading it in my hands and applying it to my face. You can also use those cotton pads I mentioned in another review, but with this toner, I prefer the classic method.
When I apply it to my skin, it feels like a light milk or a toner, some kind of liquid emulsion. It covers my skin with a good moisturizing layer. I've been using this toner for a while now, so I know it behaves well on my skin. I don't have to worry about it leaving a greasy, oily residue, so I apply it liberally, just like most toners.Naturally, considering its consistency, it absorbs really well and quickly.
One thing I like about this toner is that it doesn't take long to absorb. I usually apply it, spread it around, then follow up with eye cream, and within a minute or so, I can move on to applying my serum. That's a big plus for me, as I don't like waiting around for products to absorb before applying the next one. Before and after:
Before and after:
I have combination skin that tends to get dry, but also has an oily sheen on my forehead and nose, with some enlarged pores and blackheads.
I was on the hunt for a toner that would give my skin a serious dose of hydration, and that's exactly what I got with this creamy option. And let me tell you, it was worth it - my skin feels so much better after washing, and all signs of dryness have disappeared. It's like this toner is infused with some kind of gentle milk or something!
Before and after:
► The hydration lasts longer, but my skin doesn't look greasy or overdone. My combination skin, which can get oily pretty quickly, hasn't started breaking out more from using it. My face looks healthy, hydrated, and soft. Before and after:
► I have to say, Roung Lab is a super popular brand in Korea right now, but this toner is surprisingly underrated. Their other hit toner, the Dokdo, is a fan favorite that I've written about before, but in my opinion, this Soybean Nourishing toner gives it a run for its money in terms of hydration - it's just not as lightweight.
I've found that the Dokdo toner is great for layering and it's super lightweight, making it perfect for express masks with cotton pads. On the other hand, the Soybean Nourishing toner is a bit heavier, but it's still really easy to apply and leaves my skin feeling hydrated after just one use. I'd recommend using the Soybean Nourishing toner during the cooler months and the Dokdo toner during the warmer months.
I'd definitely recommend this product from Round Lab! The toner is super comfortable to apply and doesn't leave any residue, stickiness, or greasiness behind, but it does leave my skin feeling hydrated and provides long-lasting moisture. I love the texture of the liquid and got exactly what I was looking for during the cooler months for my skin type.
