I have to say, the more I look at these images, the more I see.
I actually picked up on the mask when I read the answer options.
I couldn't quite make out the angel or winged animal, although, if I squint, I can see just about anything.
2. Then I saw two samurai on their knees giving each other a 'five' or something.
The image with figures was there, and it made me wonder what these guys are doing - fighting or exchanging greetings.
It's a cool splash, in an Asian style.
3. Here, I see some high-end staff... two guys in suits and high heels serving some aristocrats... Or maybe they're casino workers.
The answer options had human figures, and that's all I see.
4. This isn't just a splash - it's a really beautiful illustration in my opinion.
The dragon is flying, the head is at the bottom, followed by the body and tail, and the wings are on the sides.
To me, it all makes sense.
I couldn't see anything else.
5. When I look at this picture, it's pretty obvious what's going on - it's launching a rocket.
But... there was no way to even guess what it was.
I saw everything from a rug to an animal hide, a boat, a theatrical mask with big noses, or nothing like that.
I've seen more bizarre things.
6. Here, I see two ladies from the 19th century in their dresses and with high hairstyles, waving goodbye and wanting to give each other a peck on the cheek.
7. One of the color pictures: at first, I only saw leopards / panthers, I mean wild cats roaming in the woods.
Things got tricky when I clearly made out the face in the center - it was a nasty, lifeless face that gave me the creeps.
When I looked at it from a distance, it seemed like I was seeing a female figure... without skin.
I mean, a detailed anatomical drawing.
Some pictures come with a set of questions: what do you feel when you look at the picture, what are the people on the picture (if you chose them) doing, what's in the center, do you see a specific object, and so on.
The results were actually kind of fun, because they were pretty much the opposite of what I was expecting based on my values, deep-seated beliefs, lifestyle, and all that.
Maybe if I hadn't had all those past traumas, my lifestyle could have been completely different, and maybe those echoes of unfulfilled potential are showing up in my answers and associations, reflecting some of the needs I've suppressed.
And that's exactly why I don't think the Rorschach Test is suitable for self-diagnosis: it oversimplifies way too much.
It's way too easy to misinterpret something, especially when the test is giving you blurry images and blobs that you have to explain yourself.
I have to admit, my results were pretty hit-or-miss.
I mean, I did identify with the idea that I'm a creative and intuitive person with a vivid imagination.
My imagination is always on the go, always looking for new ideas to bring to life.
I do respect rules and authority figures, but that's more out of a sense of respect for people in general.
I get energized by positive situations, but that's a pretty vague description.
I wouldn't say I suffer when I get gifts or achieve my goals, but that's probably because it's not exactly a bad thing.
Where things got weird was when I started to see contradictions in the results.
Like, I preach about being practical, but I also enjoy a good puzzle or brain teaser.
It's like, why make things easy when you can make them challenging?
I guess that's just me.
I'm on the same page as the initial warning: use this test for entertainment, to spark your imagination, get inspiration, or personal reflection, but not for any serious self-diagnosis.
