Editor's Summary
I was a bit worried about ordering the Robocar Police Base from a foreign seller, but it turned out to be a great choice. The transforming cars are a game-changer for my son's playtime, and the base itself is really well-made. The only downside is that you have to buy the cars separately, but that's not a huge deal. My son loves playing with the cars, and I love seeing him so happy with his gift.
Specifications
This was a Christmas gift from Santa Claus, and let me tell you, my little boy was beyond excited. He'd clearly written a letter to the big guy, begging for the Robocar Police Base and the transforming cars. Most of the other bases on the market are designed for cars that are 6 cm in size and don't transform - but not this one. The smallest transformers in this series are 7.5 cm, and Santa had to do some serious research to find a base that would fit the cars my son wanted. Unfortunately, there was no information about this in the product description, but one of the reviews mentioned that this base would work for cars of 7.5 cm. That's why we ended up buying it - Santa couldn't disappoint my little boy, right?
We had to buy the transforming cars separately, as the base only comes with the Jane figure. But that wasn't a problem - it was actually kind of nice to have a few extra cars to play with.
My son was thrilled with his gift, and I'm really happy with the purchase too. Here are a few reasons why:
It meets my son's expectations - Santa is a magician, after all!The plastic quality is great - no weird smells or anything. The base and track are super easy for my 4-year-old son to assemble and disassemble on his own - it's really designed for kids, and that's awesome. The toy is incredibly compact - you can fold up all the parts and store them in a closet. No need to dedicate a whole area of the room to it, which is a huge plus for me, as we have a lot of toys and it's always a challenge to find space for everything.
This is what the headquarters looks like with the track assembled - you can build the track in different ways, so there's plenty of room for imagination.
Here's what the base looks like when it's disassembled - there's a spot for the helicopter inside the dome.
This is what the base looks like when it's assembled - we've packed all the road pieces and cars inside.
The only part that doesn't fit inside is this one - I just place it on top.
And this is what the base looks like when it's packed away - it's 25x27x21 cm in size. I measured it with a ruler, so there might be a tiny bit of error.
