Hello there!
I'm so glad winter has finally arrived in our area - the cold, wind, and snow are perfect excuses to swap out my kid's old clothes for something warmer.
I remember buying him a snowsuit a few years ago, and now it's time to share my honest thoughts on it!
I picked up the blue snowsuit with mittens from the Familiya store for 919 rubles. The original price was 1999 rubles, which I think is a pretty standard price for a snowsuit like this.
The 104cm size is suitable for kids aged 3-4, but my 2-year-old son has a bit more room to grow. As every child is different, I always recommend measuring their body dimensions before making a purchase.
I'm not familiar with the Reserved brand, and I couldn't find any reviews for this specific model. So, I thought I'd share my own experience with you.
As I mentioned earlier, the temperature has dropped to -15°C or lower in our region, and it's been a shock to our system after a mild autumn. I wore a parka and still felt cold. I was thinking about how I used to brave the -35°C temperatures in my old parka, but I guess it's all about getting used to the cold.
So, here's what the blue snowsuit (model 4010N-95X-104) looks like:
Rise: 104 (3-4 years)
Chest circumference: 57
Waist: 54 cm
Hip circumference: 59 cm
Let's talk about the style – it's really solid and feels premium. I know the color isn't red, but my kid absolutely loves this outfit. Some people might prefer the puffy pants and jacket combo, but we've got both. The snowsuit is way warmer, it doesn't let any wind in, and snow doesn't get in either.
The material is 100% polyester.
My kid loves running around in this snowsuit – it's super comfortable. We've got puffy pants with suspenders, but they're a bit tricky for him to walk in. He tends to trip and doesn't like wearing them as much. The snowsuit is a game-changer, though!
This year, my kid was obsessed with snow. He'd never been that interested before, but at 2 years old, he'd constantly exclaim, 'Sneeeg!' during our winter walks.
We took a short winter stroll recently, and my kid refused to go in the stroller or sled. He wanted to run around instead.
One of the things I love about this outfit is the ample space inside. I can even layer a sweater or a fleece jacket on top. When it's -15°C outside, I dress my son in a knitted shirt, a fleece jacket, insulated pants, and thermals. And, of course, a snowsuit. He stays warm, but we don't spend hours outside in a blizzard or strong winds.
I'm really fond of the color. It's a nice change from the bright red jacket he wore last autumn to the pale blue snowsuit this winter.
The material is super comfortable and doesn't get wet easily.
My son runs around, jumps, bends, and squats without any restriction from the snowsuit.
On a cloudy day, the blue tone looks like this.
I'm not worried that my kid will lose their gloves or their jacket will get caught on anything when they're playing at the ice rinks. This snowsuit is a lifesaver – it's not drafty at all.
The stitching is decent, considering the price.
The snowsuit zips up with a lock, then the Velcro.
It's got two pockets.
This is a must-have when choosing winter gear. My kid loves putting their handkerchief in there.
I love the reflective strips on the legs of this thing – it's a total game-changer for nighttime strolls. And the snap fasteners are a nice touch, too. If the leg is fully extended, you can just unclip it.
The chin guard is a great idea – it protects my little one from getting pinched. And I like to add a scarf on top, too, especially on windy days when their cheeks get all rosy.
This white hat is a total winner with my kid – they absolutely love it. And I was surprised when they started choosing their own outfits at 2 years old – if they don't like it, they won't even bother trying it on.
The hood could be a bit bigger, to be honest – it feels a bit cramped on my kid's head.
The mittens are super comfy, though – they're great for both skinny and chubby little hands.
I'm actually pretty happy that the gloves were included in the package. My son loves wearing mittens, but he does occasionally wear the gloves. To be honest, I'd swap them out for mittens – especially since the gloves are super thin and not suitable for -15°C temperatures.
Here's how it looks from the back.
At home, the RESERVED jacket looks like this – already showing a different shade.
I wanted to show you the gloves up close. Unfortunately, they're not well-made – the seam is already coming undone after just two days. Considering we're not really doing much and my son only wears mittens more often, the gloves are pretty low-quality.
The only redeeming quality is that they do grip well. However, I think I'll just switch to mittens with elastic cuffs instead – my son has already lost one mitten.
I was really looking forward to seeing how the design turned out, but the quality didn't quite live up to my expectations. I've seen a similar jacket on Avito without sleeves, and I'm guessing it's made of the same material.
But even with the jacket itself, RESERVED has some issues. You can see threads poking out everywhere.
I mean, it's a kids' jacket, so I'd expect everything to be sewn in properly.
The label has the size and brand of the jacket printed on it.
The lining (the underside) is made of flannel. My son has similar clothes, and they're super warm.
The lining of the hood is white, and it looks like a little sheep.
I took a closer look at how the reflector looks on the legs.
The rubber seal inside keeps snow from getting in.
Sometimes we go out on the stroller. Even sitting, the costume keeps me warm.
The booties underneath the costume look like this. The wind doesn't get in, but it does depend on the shoes. I've encountered some well-known brands that I won't look at again.
The real price of the RESERVED snowsuit is 1999 rubles. I think that's too expensive for it. You could get it for 1000 rubles. There are a lot of discounted kids' items in 'Familiya'. If only they had more reviews...
I'd say it's worth buying this Reserved jacket, but only at a small cost. The quality of this brand isn't the highest, but I think it'll last the season. Given how well it keeps you warm, I'm happy with it. The only downside is the visible threads sticking out.
In 'Detsky Mir', I found options that were way worse, but the price was over 2000 rubles. Still, it's winter!
Is it worth getting for a 2-3 year old? Yeah, but there are some downsides:
The gloves are pretty low-quality (they lasted two days, but look like they've been worn for a year already); The hood is too small; There are threads sticking out.But there are more pluses than minuses:
It's stylish; It's warm; The color is nice; It's easy to put on;It has reflectors and a zipper on the leg area;It doesn't let the wind in;The discounted price is nice. The main plus is that my son loves the jacket. And that's something to be happy about!
Winter's just starting, and we're already all set for snow, blizzards, and wind. I think I'll head to this store soon to check out some more winter gear (link).
I also want to recommend this awesome parka from 'Modis' for just 1300 rubles (link).
I've got to give a shoutout to the Demar kids' boots and these red Finnish winter boots I tried - not my fave. If I'd known...
My rating? A solid 4 out of 5!
Thanks for tuning in! Wishing you a cozy winter and awesome weekends!
