🌲Manufacturer's Description.I was surprised to see that the top of the mask in Korean says 'Soothing Mask from Pine', but when I translated it to English, it became 'Centella Mask'. Weird.
I was blown away by how quickly the PINE CACTIVER components work to soothe my sensitive skin, which is easily irritated by external factors. The double-layer mask is incredibly hydrating, and I love that it's infused with essence.
It's based on centella.The LHA is hypoallergenic, which is a must for me.The double fabric is designed for adhesive hydration.The manufacturer promises a calming effect and hydration, and I appreciate that the mask is hypoallergenic.
🌲How I use it.
I take out the mask and apply it evenly across my face. After 10-20 minutes, I remove the mask and gently pat the remaining serum into my skin.
I leave the mask on for 10-20 minutes, and then I'm supposed to leave the remaining serum on without washing it off.
🌲 My experience.
I have to say, this mask is unlike any other cotton mask I've tried. It's actually interesting, and I'm a big fan.
The packaging is super easy to open with a simple scratch-off, and what really surprised me was the unique material of the mask. It looks like lace (or maybe even the surface of Zewa toilet paper - it's up for debate!), but it's incredibly soft and thin to the touch. It sticks to my face really well.
I was surprised by how thick the serum is that comes with the mask. It's even thicker than store-bought serums in bottles. I think its thickness also contributes to how soft the mask material feels.
The eye holes are big and almost round when you stretch them up (not small and narrow like some Asian fabric masks can be) and the width of the nose hole is also not tiny. Perfect size. I'm really happy with the mask in this regard - if only all nose holes were this size!
The one thing I didn't like was the smell. At first, when you take the mask out, it seems like there's no smell at all, but when you put it on your face, you can really smell that it has a plastic-like odor. I'm not a fan of that. The serum that's applied to the area around your nose shouldn't smell unpleasant.
After taking off the mask, my face was really wet, but the serum soaked in quickly. I probably could've waited for it to fully absorb, but I wanted to feel the lightness on my face after about 30 minutes, so I went to wash my face with water.
I used this mask on slightly irritated skin after applying the Reedle shot at night, and I wouldn't say it did anything incredible to calm my skin. The moisturizing, smoothing - yeah, temporary wrinkle relaxation - that's a yes, but calming... maybe just a little. Centella isn't exactly my ingredient, and it never did anything amazing for my skin on its own, let alone with the spruce. The cream from this line impressed me more.
My experience with using this mask.
The packaging is pretty and easy to open. The stamp is really good in size and made from an unusual material. It smells like plastic, which is a major turn-off for me. It does a great job of moisturizing and smoothing out my skin. It calms my skin, but not as effectively as I had hoped.
My verdict.
I'm not blown away by this mask. I really like the unique material and the moisturizing effect, but the smell is a major issue for me. I also have mixed feelings about its ability to calm my skin. Overall, it's an okay product, but it didn't meet my expectations.
I do want to give a shout-out to Round Lab, though - their other products have really impressed me. The Round Lab 1025 Dokdo Toner with gentle exfoliation has been a game-changer for my skin, and the Pine Calming Cica Cream is another favorite of mine. It's super soothing and calming for my skin.
