Hello everyone!
After moving into our new apartment, my husband and I started thinking about what useful tech we should buy. He really wanted an electric grill, so we got one.
The grill cost us 6,000 rubles at the time of purchase, and now it's a fraction of the price we paid initially.
We even bought this grill twice! Our first grill was a real winner until I went and ruined it by accident. I decided to give it a good cleaning, applied some special cleaning solution, closed it up, and then promptly forgot about it for a few days. When I opened it up again, I was shocked. The entire surface had puffed up and the coating had come off. So, we had to buy a second one exactly like it.
Description
We had a small spot on our kitchen counter for the grill. It's one of those appliances you don't really clean, like a blender or meat grinder, so you need to consider whether you have enough space when buying it.
Polaris PGP 1502 Electric GrillPower: 2000 WThe grill has 2 working surfaces with non-stick coating. The lower one.
The upper one. Both surfaces are not removable! When our first grill 'broke', we thought we could just replace the plates, but they're not sold separately and can't be replaced.
The grill has a special drip tray where the fat drips off during cooking. I use it to shake off the cheese residue from the conveyor belts and then empty the tray.
One thing I've learned is to be careful when turning off the grill, as it can get scorching hot - I've had a few close calls already.
The temperature control dial is located at the top of the grill, and it's super easy to use. You've got three modes to choose from:
Mode 1 is the lowest temperature setting - perfect for toasting sandwiches.Mode 2 is the middle setting, ideal for cooking fish and seafood.Mode 3 is the highest setting, reaching a scorching 240 degrees Celsius - great for cooking steaks and burgers.
The grill heats up super quickly, taking around 1 minute to reach cooking temperature - it's a bit loud, though, with some pretty loud clicks as it warms up. I've never experienced this on my previous grill, but it's not a deal-breaker for me.
Cooking Options
I've been using this grill to cook breakfast most often, and I've got to say, it's a total game-changer. My go-to breakfast dish is a tortilla wrap with grilled beef, cheese, and veggies - it's a 5-minute job, and it's so much healthier than cooking on a pan.
The best part is that the cheese melts perfectly, and it's just so much fun to eat. I've tried cooking it on a pan before, but it takes around 10 minutes, so this grill is a huge time-saver.
I was thrilled to discover I could even make scrambled eggs on this thing! The key is to preheat the grill first, so the egg whites set right away and don't drip into the drip pan.
I have to say, I prefer making scrambled eggs on the grill over a skillet - no oil needed, and the result is a runny yolk that's just perfect. Plus, it only took me 2 minutes to cook! The egg whites set instantly, and it was basically done. How cool is that?
Two of the eggs had runny yolks, so I just stacked them and sprinkled some cheese on top.
This was the quickest and healthiest breakfast I've had in ages
Side dish. I've been using this grill to cook meat more often than not. Unfortunately, I didn't take many photos of my experiments, but I'll share some of my favorite recipes with you)
Potatoes. I remember the first time I sliced them too thick, and they took forever to cook. Then I started slicing them into 0.5-1cm thick rounds, and the cooking time dropped dramatically.
I slice the potatoes, sprinkle some salt, pepper, and dried garlic, and drizzle a bit of olive oil to distribute the seasonings evenly. Then I place the slices on the preheated grill (set to 2.5 power).
Within five minutes, I get this gorgeous-looking potato. I really love this method because it gives me a crispy exterior and a soft interior on the inside.Grilling potatoes is five times faster than cooking them on a pan!
The key is to cut the potatoes into equal-sized pieces. Where I cut them thinner, they got a bit burnt.
The meat - that's my top pick! It takes around five minutes to cook, maybe even less.
I marinate the meat in soy sauce with spices beforehand and then place it on the preheated grill in mode 3.
After just five minutes, it's all done. Another plus is that I don't use any oil here, but the meat still turns out juicy!
And that's how we end up with a healthy and quick dinner. Everything's cooked on the grill.
When I buy chevapchichi, I only grill them. I set the mode to 1.5.
I was done with prep in just five minutes. Since I placed them after cooking chicken, some seasonings had stuck to them and they looked a bit darker. But if you clean the grill beforehand, they'll turn out a nicer color. Either way, it didn't affect the taste - they didn't burn at all.
Cleaning
I really love this grill for how easy it is to clean. After 'dry' meals, a quick wipe with a cloth and it's spotless. After cooking meat, it requires a bit more elbow grease, but nothing sticks to the surface, making the process a breeze.

I'm so glad I bought this - I ended up buying it twice, and it's been a lifesaver for me!
For me, the two main benefits are:
Fast cooking timeNo need for oilOther perks include:
Easy to cleanTime-savingAffordable price (especially now)My only gripe is that the panels are non-removable. It'd be great if they were easier to clean without having to take apart the whole grill.
This electric grill has been a lifesaver on busy days when I just don't feel like cooking. It's made a huge difference in my kitchen routine!

I've got to say, the value for money on this product is unbeatable. For the price, I was expecting a decent experience, but what I got was a whole lot more. The build quality is seriously impressive, and the battery life is better than I anticipated. I've been using it for a week now, and I'm still getting a full day's use out of it.
