Pistachio Hype: Nuts' New Release Falls Short
Hello everyone! I'm excited to share my thoughts on the latest release from Nuts - the Pistachio & Almond bar and XXL slab.
I've been following new product releases this spring, and Nuts is one of my go-to brands. While I still enjoy their bars, I've noticed a decline in flavor over time. Despite this, I'm always eager to try their new offerings. The Pistachio flavor has been on my wishlist for ages, and I was thrilled to see it finally hit the shelves.
Unfortunately, the real thing didn't live up to my expectations. The combination of white chocolate, nougat, almonds, and caramel just didn't work for me. The pistachio flavor was barely noticeable, and I found myself wondering why they even bothered calling it pistachio.
I've had similar experiences with other Nuts products, like their peanut paste, which is almost undetectable. It's disheartening to see a brand that once impressed me with its unique flavors now phoning it in. The classic Nuts bar still holds a special place in my heart, and I'd recommend sticking with that instead.
Design-wise, the new bar looks nice, with a yellow-green label and a large Nuts logo. The image of sliced bar on the side and a picture of pistachios add a touch of authenticity. However, the back of the bar is where things get a bit messy, with a cluttered nutrition table and ingredient list.
Inside, you'll find a small rectangular bar covered in white chocolate, with a soft pistachio-colored nougat, whole almonds, and caramel. The aroma is pretty standard, with no hint of pistachio.
The taste is a letdown, with the white chocolate being too sweet and the pistachio flavor barely noticeable. It's a bit better when it's slightly melted, but you have to really savor it to even get a hint of pistachio. I've had similar experiences with other Nuts products, and it's clear that they're not prioritizing flavor.
One thing I do appreciate is the variety of formats - the bar and XXL slab are both available, and I prefer the slab for its less sweet and more interesting texture. However, overall, I wouldn't recommend either product. If you're a fan of Nuts, stick with the classic bar - it's still a solid choice.
