I'm sharing my experience with a popular permanent makeup studio in Moscow, which has gotten mixed reviews – some people love it, while others hate it.
As someone who's been doing this blog thing for a while now, I like to think I'm pretty honest about my experiences, even if they're not all sunshine and rainbows.
I wanted to wake up with perfectly groomed brows every day without having to spend hours drawing them on.
Before booking an appointment, I did some research – I checked out reviews on various websites, and opinions were all over the place.
Next, I looked at the artists' work on Instagram, chose a few, and booked an appointment on their website, selecting a day and time.
They asked for more information about my brows, what I'd done with them before, and requested that I send over some photos via WhatsApp. This is a good approach, as it helps the artist understand whether they can take on the job and deliver a great result.
After that, I received detailed instructions about the procedure, including the time, address, and payment details. Unfortunately, they only accepted cash, so I didn't get a receipt. They also sent over detailed care instructions, which I've included below in case anyone finds them useful for their own experience.
The studio is located about 10 minutes from the metro, and we found it pretty easily. The security guard let us in with our surname and passport.
Inside, everything is super clean and nice. There aren't many places, but everything's been thought out to be cozy and comfortable.
While waiting, they offer you a nice cup of buckwheat tea and some treats.
You'll need to fill out a ton of paperwork (agreements and whatnot).
The stylist will definitely take your photo before and after the treatment.
This part was a bit of a hassle. My eyes were super sensitive to the bright light from the lamp, and I ended up with tears streaming down my face - it was actually kind of brutal and really uncomfortable!
The actual treatment lasted around an hour and a half. With the numbing cream, it was super comfortable - almost imperceptible. Not scary at all!
The treatment was done while I was lying on a couch.
The stylist was wearing gloves, a mask, and worked really carefully and slowly. The communication was polite and considerate.
We discussed the shape and made some adjustments and showed me the initial result.
I paid in cash, and they didn't give me a receipt.
They tried to sell me a regular vitamin balm for 300 rubles, which is available for 30 rubles in any store - it's just ridiculous.
The result:
I have to say that 1.5 months after the healing process, I started using a hair growth serum that really helped with growth and saved the situation...
Was it worth the 11,000 rubles? I think my review says it all.
The permanent results I was expecting just didn't materialize.
The verdict:
I wouldn't recommend this studio to anyone. If you're looking for a good deal, keep searching.
