A Disappointing Experience with Perlier's Thai Coco Shower Gel - Not Worth the 700 Rubles
Hello everyone!
I'm a huge fan of Perlier's body care series, so I was super excited to try out some of their other products. I ordered them online, and in my first order, I added the Thai Coco relaxing bath cream, and in my second order, I got the Thai Coco stress-relieving shower gel. Unfortunately, I ended up paying almost full price for the shower gel - 700 rubles. Considering the small 250ml volume, the price is high for me. I usually go for cheaper shower gels and body washes because they don't have a huge impact on skin quality, and their main job is to clean without drying out the skin.
I've known the brand for a while now, but I've only bought the series with the fresia. I've always been impressed by their products, so I was expecting a lot more from this Thai Coco gel.
Perlier's cosmetic products are based on the healing properties of natural acacia flower honey. Each product is not only a chance to give your body and hair beauty and health, but also a great way to fill yourself with energy and strength, relieve stress and tension after a long day. Perlier products are your personal honey-based spa for body and soul beauty.
The Thai Coco stress-relieving shower gel is a product from Perlier. This Italian brand is known for developing and producing skin care products based on natural and organic components.
I was really looking forward to trying this Thai Coco gel for stress relief, and the website does a great job of laying out all the details. Plus, the reviews are all super positive. I'm a big fan of scented products, and that's exactly what everyone's been raving about - it's also what let me down a bit.
This gel is made with organic coconut from Thailand and retains all its valuable qualities. The coconut's got some amazing oils that are great for your skin, moisturizing and nourishing it. But what really caught my eye is that it's also an effective anti-depressant that can help you cope with stress, boost your mood, and give you an energy boost.
Using this gel in the morning helps me get into work mode, gives me an optimistic outlook. Starting the day with it is a great way to set yourself up for success. And using it in the evening is a great way to unwind, get rid of fatigue, and find your balance again.
The natural gel is easy to lather up and washes off easily with warm water, leaving your skin feeling fresh and clean. The packaging is convenient and helps you use the product efficiently.
The gel comes in a standard plastic tube with a minimalist design that really stands out. The back of the tube has all the information you need about the product. The lid even has a safety seal to prevent accidental opening.
First, I was a bit skeptical about the dispenser on top - it's pretty big, so you do need to get used to it to avoid pouring too much gel at once.
The Russian label doesn't give you much information about the gel itself.
AQUA (WATER), SODIUM LAURETH SULFATE, SODIUM CHLORIDE, COCAMIDOPROPYL BETAINE, PARFUM (FRAGRANCE), SODIUM BENZOATE, SODIUM PEG-7 OLIVE OIL CARBOXYLATE, COCOS NUCIFERA OIL (COCOS NUCIFERA (COCONUT) OIL), COCO-GLUCOSIDE, STYRENE/ACRYLATES COPOLYMER, CITRIC ACID, TETRASODIUM EDTA, CI 19140 (YELLOW 5), CI 42090 (BLUE 1).
The ingredient list is pretty standard, but I do appreciate the addition of coconut oil and sodium peg-7 olive oil carboxylate.
I was expecting a lot more from this shower gel, but even the most budget-friendly options can get the job done. I'm looking for a gel that gently cleans my skin, doesn't dry it out, and smells nice. The PERLIER Thai Coco shower gel delivers on the latter, but not quite on the former.
The gel has a pleasant texture, but it's not super thick. It's almost a bit too runny, to be honest.
But the consistency is still pretty comfortable to use, and it's easy to apply to the skin. It lathers up really well, too - you only need a tiny bit of gel to get a big amount of foam.
It rinses off the skin easily, without leaving any residue or tightness. It cleans the skin really well, without drying it out.
When I used it, my skin didn't dry out or flake - it reacted really well to the product, and I didn't experience any allergic reactions.
But what about the scent?
I have to admit, I was expecting a stronger coconut scent from this Thai Coco gel, but what I got was a pretty subtle aroma that barely lingers on my skin and in the shower.
Don't get me wrong, it's not completely undetectable - I can pick up on a soft, creamy coconut note, but it's not the vibrant, intense coconut scent I was hoping for.
What I do get is a sweet, almost vanilla-like, almost bubblegum-like sweetness that's just not doing it for me. And that's why I'm disappointed with the scent of this gel.
It's not just the lack of intensity that's the problem - it's the vagueness of the scent itself.
I wouldn't recommend this gel, but I will give it a few stars for its gentle cleansing properties.
