Oranges - Mandarins

I'm a big fan of mandarins - they're the perfect snack to grab on the go. Not only are they delicious, but they're also super nutritious and packed with vitamins. Whether you like 'em sliced up in a salad or juiced for a quick pick-me-up, mandarins are a great addition to any meal. They're a great source of fiber, potassium, and vitamin C, making them an excellent choice for a healthy snack. Plus, they're super easy to peel and segment, making them a great option for busy days when you need a quick energy boost.

My Go-To Mandarin Oranges from Perekrestok: A Family Favorite

summarizeEditor's Summary

I'm hooked on Perekrestok's Mandarin Oranges with Leaves - they're the perfect snack for my family. These juicy oranges are not only delicious but also super easy to peel. I've tried other brands, but Perekrestok's convenience and quality keep me coming back. My only gripe is the inconsistent quality - some oranges have brown spots, which can be a real bummer. Still, the value for money is worth it for my family's happy tummies.

Hello fellow fruit lovers!
I'm obsessed with finding the perfect snack for my family, and these Mandarin Oranges with Leaves from Perekrestok totally hit the spot.
Manufacturer - I noticed the label 'Abkhazia' on the box, but I'm not sure if that's the actual manufacturer. Has anyone else figured this out?Where I bought it - I only shop for these mandarin oranges at Perekrestok because it's super convenient for me.
Price per kilogram - 189-199 rubles.
I've bought these mandarin oranges a few times now, and I've noticed they usually come in small boxes with about 20 pieces. Some of them already have brown spots, which is a bummer. I usually grab 5-6 oranges, but when I come back the next day, I see the same scene - not many oranges, and not all of them are perfect. I think they might be sold in small batches, which can make them harder to find.
The leaves on the oranges are already dry, and many of them have dark spots. I always choose the ones with no leaves, but within a day or two, those dark spots start to appear. If you don't eat them fast, they'll get worse. But we eat them quickly, so they don't have a chance to spoil.
The oranges are a beautiful color, with a smooth, porous skin. They smell like citrus, just like they should. The leaves don't have any scent.
The skin peels off easily, and the membranes come off nicely too. When you're peeling, the citrus aroma is just amazing. When you eat the orange - the taste is sweet and sour, leaning more towards sweet, with a lovely juice that's not too overpowering. The aroma is incredible!
The segments come apart easily, and the pulp is nice and juicy.
Segments are nice and even, with a lovely aroma. I've only found two seeds in the entire time I've been eating these oranges!
Out of curiosity, I tried removing all the membranes from one segment, just like I used to do when my daughter was little. It was a breeze, and the cleaned segment was super tender and delicious.
Bottom line - these mandarin oranges are a winner! They're not too sweet, have a great balance of flavors, seeds are rare, easy to peel, and super aromatic. However, I've noticed that not all Perekrestok stores have these oranges, and when they do, I have to grab them in small batches because they spoil quickly. I think they might be stored in the fridge at the store and sold as needed.
Despite the minor drawbacks, I highly recommend these Mandarin Oranges with Leaves from Perekrestok. They're a game-changer for anyone looking for a delicious, easy-to-eat fruit!
Thanks for reading!
