People Love, St. Petersburg

I've been to a lot of restaurants in St. Pete, but People Love is one of my favorites. This place has a super cozy atmosphere that makes you feel right at home, and the food is always on point. Whether you're in the mood for something classic or trying something new, the menu has got you covered. Plus, the service is top-notch - the staff is friendly and attentive without being too pushy. All in all, People Love is a great spot for a night out with friends or a date.

When I Need a Quick Bite in the City, I Know Exactly Where to Go

summarizeEditor's Summary

I've been a fan of People Love for years, and it's easy to see why. Their locations are super convenient – most are near metro stations or in busy neighborhoods. I've been to plenty of their cafes in the city, and they're always bustling with people. The interior design is consistent across all locations, which is a nice touch. You'll find blue glossy tiles, orange signs, wooden tables, and colorful chair backs. If I'm being honest, their customer service can be a bit spotty at times, but it's not a deal-breaker for me. I've had some great experiences with their customer service too. Overall, People Love is a solid choice for a quick bite in the city.

Hello everyone!
I've been a fan of the People Love chain for years - it's been four years, to be precise. If it weren't for one major drawback, I'd be a die-hard fan.
The chain has expanded to almost 90 locations in St. Petersburg and the surrounding area, according to 2GIS. They've chosen their locations wisely - mostly near metro stations and in densely populated neighborhoods of new developments.
You can also find locations in the city center, mainly on the first floor of old buildings. Their choice of locations is spot on - I've been to plenty of their cafes in the city, and they're always bustling with people, and not a single one has closed down yet.About the interior
All the cafes follow a specific color scheme and style. You'll notice blue glossy tiles, orange signs, wooden tables, and colorful chair backs are a must.
One interesting observation I've made is that they have clocks on the wall with the date of opening. I assume it's the date they opened their first location. That's a nice touch, if you ask me.
Some cafes have kids' zones, mainly in residential areas - it wouldn't make sense to have it in the city center, and the demand would be lower, anyway.
I really like the lighting near the windows - it's bright, but also spot-on and really well done. It adds to the cozy atmosphere and makes for great product photography.
I took some adorable photos of our engagement rings right after I got them - we had them custom-made. I think they turned out really sweet.
The only downside to all the coffee shops is the bathrooms. Firstly, they're ridiculously small.
Secondly, they're disgustingly dirty. Unfortunately, I've never encountered a decent bathroom at 'People Love.'
About the selection
'People Love' is primarily a bakery, so there's an abundance of pastries, buns, and cakes. There's also some really good packaged cookies that I enjoy taking home or to the office sometimes.
I also get sandwiches, and my favorite is the veggie Greek sandwich. If I haven't had time to grab breakfast or I'm starving, I love taking it to the office as a first or second breakfast.Unfortunately, the Greek sandwich is only available in the mornings, by the evening it's all meat-basedI also regularly have breakfast-style yogurt with chia and pear or berries and granola on my table.
Breakfast at work – yogurt with berries and granolaNow, the coffee shops have announced a low-carb menu. I got excited, but it turned out to be just a couple of pies and a cake. Oh well, I was hoping to try some new dishes, not just baked goods.
One thing that really surprised me about the pastry with apple and pumpkin was how little filling there was compared to its size.
About my orders
I love that I can quickly grab a bite to eat or take some food with me at 'People Love.'
Most of the time, it's soups - pumpkin, mushroom, and cheese. Each soup comes with a couple of baguette slices.
My favorite is the mushroom soup - it's incredibly smooth, creamy, and filling, without any unnecessary heaviness. If I'm buying lunch for myself, it's usually an omelette with veggies or a veggie lasagna. The former is light, while the latter is heavier, so it's perfect if you're extremely hungry.
I always get the macarons, tiramisu, and bird's milk. Everything tastes great, and I love it.
Last time I visited, I noticed some cute animal-shaped desserts that I hadn't seen before.
A few words about the prices. For St. Petersburg, 'People Love' has very reasonable prices in my opinion. For example, this mini-lunch (soup, pastry, and juice) cost me 259 rubles.
About the one major drawback
Let me tell you, as a fan of the 'People Love' cafe-bakery chain, I was expecting their coffee to be a highlight. But, sadly, it's a major letdown. I've tried their coffee at different locations and in various forms, but the two consistent issues are that it's scorchingly hot (I mean, every time I burned my tongue) and has a terrible aftertaste. To be honest, it's not even drinkable - that's my verdict. I end up opting for hot chocolate, tea, or fruit juice instead.
The verdict
Despite the coffee being a major disappointment, I still love the 'People Love' chain and regularly visit them for my favorite dishes.
Thanks for reading!
