My Experience with This Hotel
I've been visiting this hotel since my childhood, and it's associated with many fond memories. As a child, this place seemed magical. The hotel is situated near a forest, with clean air and tall trees. The whimsical atmosphere was enhanced by wooden sculptures (many of which still remain). Now, as an adult, my impressions are largely positive due to nostalgia. However, I've also noticed some drawbacks. Let me elaborate.
The Hotel's FacilitiesThis hotel has been known as the 'Park Hotel Zvenigorod' for a long time, not Heliopark Thalasso. Although some invoices still mention the old name, I've been informed that the hotel has a new owner. The hotel features a wellness center with a pool and saunas, several buildings, banquet halls, a shooting range, a billiards room, bike rentals, an ice slide, a cinema, and a pond (I can list more).
Food and DiningThere's an option to pay with a guest card without booking a room. Since my last visit was with such a card, I couldn't share my experience with the rooms.
Dining. There are three meal times with a buffet, which remains and is replenished for several hours (so, you don't need to strictly follow the meal schedule). The variety of food is impressive, with different options each day. Some guests were so pleased with the cuisine that they complimented the chefs, although personally, I didn't enjoy the food. Between meals, there are drinks (tea, coffee, juices, smoothies, milk), fruits, pastries, and cakes available at any time. In addition to the main dining area, there's a 'Tyrolean' billiards bar where you can have a meal for an extra fee.
AtmosphereThere are many children running around, playing, and having fun. If you're traveling with a child, they'll likely find plenty of friends, and the animators will ensure they don't get bored. If your child is older and more independent, you'll probably only see them during meals and in their room. If you're looking to relax without children... well, it's not possible here. Occasionally, the animators host morning workouts with music that's so loud, it's almost deafening. The hotel's style is also inconsistent (Heliopark was more stylish in the past), but that's just my designer's nitpicking.
EntertainmentIf you're not a fan of lounging around and relaxing, you'll get bored with the hotel's activities within a couple of days. Although there are many different activities and animations for both children and adults (movie screenings, discos, tournaments, etc.), you can get tired of them within a day. I recommend visiting for a day or two. With children, you can stay for a longer period since they'll be busy playing with friends.
The hotel's territory is quite large, but it's easy to navigate due to the clear signage.
You can rent a barbecue area and a grill. There's also a pond for fishing. Near the pond is a small zoo (not a contact zoo) with domestic animals, rabbits, and pigs. Another notable feature is the billiards room with classic and American tables.
Wellness CenterIn the main building's basement, there's a wellness center consisting of a small pool (about 10 meters long) and several saunas. It's a great place to spend time, but each sauna is designed for two to three people, so you might not be able to enjoy it during peak days (like holidays).
In general, I had the impression that this is a good hotel for those who want to spend a fun day or visit for two to three days with children or stay in the Moscow region as a tourist. Visiting for several weeks as a rest home only makes sense if you use the hotel's medical services (they have their own medical center, but I'm not familiar with it).
Editor's Summary
This hotel is suitable for families with children, offering a variety of activities and a large territory. However, it may not be the best choice for those seeking a relaxing, child-free experience. The hotel's facilities are well-equipped, with a wellness center, pool, and saunas. The food is diverse, but some guests may find it unappealing. Overall, it's a good option for a short stay or a family vacation.
