I'm still pinching myself to see if my trip to Tahiti was all just a dream!
The warm welcome at the international airport set the tone for our trip. Our hosts beamed with smiles, and they even gave us a lovely flower garland to wear around our necks. We then boarded a plane to Bora Bora, and I was already smitten with the island's charm.
Our hotel, located in the Point Matira area, was a bungalow on the water with breathtaking views of the ocean and the sacred Mount Otemanu.
The ocean's color changed from a pale blue to a deep blue, depending on the depth. It was a sight to behold!
The heat was intense, but the beautiful scenery and friendly locals made it all worth it.
What really made our stay special was the warm hospitality of the staff. They made an effort to remember our names, and the concierge, waiters, and drivers were all super friendly.
Our room was spotless, with high ceilings and a thatched roof. The wooden furniture and parquet floor added to the island vibe.
The bathroom was spacious and comfortable, with a big, soft bed that I just wanted to sink into all day.
The veranda had comfortable loungers, a shower, and a ladder leading into the ocean. It was the perfect spot to relax and take in the stunning views.
And the best part? The staff went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable!
The hotel's grounds were massive, with a lush green island and walking bridges to spot colorful fish. There were two restaurants and two bars to choose from, plus a big outdoor pool. We even had a morning workout session, followed by a Polynesian-style show in the evening. The sunsets were simply breathtaking!
The animators were super energetic and kept us entertained all day long.
The beach was a dream come true - soft, white sand and comfortable loungers, plus sunscreen and towels provided.
The hotel had a mobile app that allowed us to chat with the concierge, order food to our room, and even book excursions.
We took a shark and ray feeding experience (€72), which took up the whole day. We also went on a crystal-clear lagoon cruise (price dependent on the number of people) and visited ancient temples like Marae and Matira (€35).

We even had access to a spa, massages, and other wellness activities.
Bonus: we got to snorkel for free in the lagoon, and the fitness center, paddleboard, and tennis court were all available for us to use.
Eating was a culinary adventure, with delicious and aromatic food and wine. We were truly spoiled!
I felt so relaxed and disconnected from the world that I lost all sense of time.
It wasn't until it was time to leave that I realized how much I would miss this little slice of paradise.January 2019 was the perfect time to visit, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway.
As the saying goes, 'you only live once' - so go ahead and treat yourself to a little luxury. You deserve it!
