Panoramic Views of Florence & A David Copy

summarizeEditor's Summary

Florence is one of those cities that's even more stunning than you imagine. My family and I recently visited, and we were blown away by the views from Piazza Michelangelo. The 20-minute taxi ride up the hill was totally worth it – the panoramic views of the city are seriously breathtaking. We snapped some amazing photos to commemorate our trip, and I'm still going through them. The piazza itself is pretty small, but it's got some nice shops selling souvenirs and snacks. We grabbed a cup of lemon tea for three euros to warm up on a chilly January morning. All in all, it's a great spot to soak up the sights and sounds of Florence.

We hopped in a taxi to get to Piazza Michelangelo, which is a bit of a trek – it's a 20-minute walk up a hill. But trust me, the views are totally worth it.
This wasn't our first time in Florence – we visited back in 2008, and now we're here again in January 2026.
Luckily, the weather was perfect – warm and sunny – which made our visit even more enjoyable.
The piazza itself is pretty small, but it's got some nice shops selling souvenirs, snacks, and drinks. You can grab a cup of lemon tea for three euros to warm up.
The main attraction here is a copy of Michelangelo's David, one of the most recognizable sculptures in the world. It's a must-see when you're in Florence.
From Piazza Michelangelo, you can see the whole city unfold before your eyes. The views are simply stunning, offering the best panorama in all of Florence.
You can see the Duomo, Ponte Vecchio, Arno River, and Uffizi Gallery all from here. It's the perfect spot to take in all the main sights – and the best part is, you can see them all from a unique perspective.
The only downside is that the shops can detract from the atmosphere a bit. But hey, they do sell some useful stuff, so it's not all bad.
From Piazza Michelangelo, you can see the real Tuscany landscapes – it's breathtaking, to say the least. This place is a real gem, and I highly recommend adding it to your Florence itinerary.
We spent a few hours taking in the views and exploring the area. After that, we headed down to the Rose Garden, which I'll write about in another review.
