Palmolive Luxury Body Wash with Fig, White Orchid, and Oils

I'm totally hooked on this body wash - it's like a mini-vacation for my skin. The fig and white orchid scent is seriously calming, and it leaves my skin feeling ridiculously soft and moisturized. I use it after a long day, or whenever I need to unwind and relax.

Palmolive's Luxury Body Wash: A Decent Deal with a Few Drawbacks

summarizeEditor's Summary

I recently gave Palmolive's Luxury Oils Gel with Fig and White Orchid a try, and while it's a decent deal, there are a few things that might give you pause. The scent is lovely, with a nice balance of fig and white orchid notes that'll transport you to a spa. The gel lathers up nicely and leaves your skin feeling clean and refreshed. But here's the thing: the packaging could be way more eco-friendly. And don't even get me started on the lack of clear instructions on how to use the product - it's a bit frustrating, to say the least. Additionally, the gel can be a bit too runny, which might not be ideal for those with sensitive skin. Overall, it's a solid choice for those looking for a luxurious shower experience without breaking the bank, but you might want to consider a few things before making a purchase.

I'm a sucker for relaxing in the bath and showering with some scented gel. I'm always on the lookout for new and interesting products, and a few months ago I stumbled upon Palmolive's 'Luxury Oils' range. I ended up buying two of their gels - one with jasmine and grapefruit, and the other with fig and white orchid - and today I'm reviewing the one with fig and white orchid.
Palmolive Luxury Oils Gel with Fig, White Orchid, and Oils
▶️ Product Details:
Product Name: Palmolive Luxury Oils Gel with Fig, White Orchid, and Oils Manufacturer: Turkey Available Sizes: 250ml and 500ml Shelf Life: 3 years Price: From 199 RUB for 250ml and 299 RUB for 500ml Where to Buy: Magnit-Kosmetik, Zolotoe Yabloko, and online marketplaces
▶️ Brand Information:
Palmolive Luxury Oils Gel with Fig and White Orchid is the ultimate indulgence for your skin. The complex of precious natural oils with unique moisturizing, nourishing, and restoring properties takes care of your skin's youth and beauty. Organic fig and white orchid extracts envelop your skin in a soft floral cloak, giving you unforgettable moments of relaxation and bliss.
The delicate texture of precious oils gently and delicately wraps your skin, protecting it from dryness, tightness, and irritation. Natural olive oil intensely moisturizes and nourishes your skin, activating its natural restoration.
The valuable ilang-ilang oil strengthens the skin's natural barrier, shielding it from aggressive external factors and giving it a wonderful glow.
I have to say, the description is very appealing, and I was eager to try this gel after reading it. Especially during the cold winter months when my skin needs extra moisture and nourishment. But, unfortunately, the product didn't quite live up to its promises.
▶️ Packaging:
The bottle is the standard Palmolive design, even the 500ml size fits comfortably in my hand. It's made of transparent plastic with a medium level of stiffness. The quality of the plastic is average, the bottle quickly lost its original shine, and there are some scratches on it that I'm not sure how they got there.
The label on the front is really eye-catching – the pomegranate and white orchid are literally swimming in golden oil, it's a nice touch.
On the back of the bottle, there's an information sticker with tiny text, you'd need to have excellent eyesight or a magnifying glass to read it.
The flip-top lid is a bit stiff to open and close, but it does stay shut tightly, even if the bottle is lying on its side – not a single drop of gel will leak out.
The dosing hole is small, and the gel comes out in a thin stream.
▶️ Ingredients of the gel are listed on the packaging:
Aqua, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Sodium Chloride, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Glycerin, Parfum , Sodium Benzoate, Citric Acid, Trisodium Ethylenediamine Disuccinate, BHT, Ficus Carica Fruit Extract,Olea Europaea Fruit Oil, Phalaenopsis Amabilis Extract, Cananga Odorata Flower Oil, Eugenia Caryophyllus Leaf oil, Benzyl Salicylate, Hexyl Cinnamal, Linalool,CI 14700,CI 17200,CI 47005
The ingredient list isn't perfect. The gel contains sulfates, but I'm not too fussed about that.
However, there's a known allergen – linalool, which is recognized as a toxin and can have a negative impact on the endocrine system.
And then there are the usual suspects: preservatives, emulsifiers, foaming agents, and so on.
On the plus side, there are some nice ingredients like ilang-ilang and olive oils, as well as extracts of pomegranate and orchid.
▶️ Technical characteristics of the gel
Texture is, as expected, gel-like.
The consistency is just right – not too runny, not too thick.
I was really impressed with how well this gel lathers, even if the foam isn't super high. But it's dense and holds its shape nicely.
Color is a semi-transparent, peachy-pink shade. In the bottle, it looks way more vibrant, but in reality, the color is pretty subtle.
And then there's the scent – this is the real star of the show. It's bright, but not overpowering or annoying.
I'd describe it as floral, sweet, and slightly spicy, with a hint of creamy undertones.
The aroma is really interesting, cozy, and warming. And for me, that's a plus – it lingers on my skin for a bit after showering.
▶️ In use, the Palmolive Luxury Moisture gel is a real pleasure.
It lathers up nicely, and I mean, the foam might not be super high, but it's lush and lasts long enough to get you clean without needing to reapply.
It rinses off my skin nicely, too, without leaving any residue or slipperiness behind. Plus, it's got great cleansing properties.
And, of course, the aroma is a major bonus – for me, it's all about having a shower that's more than just a chore, but an actual experience.
Reward-wise, this gel is pretty moderate. My partner and I managed to get about a month's worth of use out of a 500ml bottle.
▶️ Everything was great, but over time, I noticed my skin was drying out more than usual – sometimes even flaking. For the sake of experimentation, I switched to Sinergetic's gentle formula for a few days, and the dryness disappeared.
Then I went back to Palmolive, and the dryness came back. If I can get away without using body lotion after using Sinergetic, I definitely can't after using Palmolive. All things considered, despite the manufacturer's big claims and the presence of moisturizing ingredients, this gel actually dries out my skin. Maybe it's just my skin type, but this is a major minus – it's unlikely I'll buy it again.
So, I've been using this product for a while now, and I've got to say, the value for money is top-notch. I mean, it's not the cheapest option out there, but it's definitely worth every penny. The build quality is solid, and it feels like it's built to last. I've been using it for a week, and it still looks brand new. The customer support has been great too - they're super responsive and helped me out with a few issues I had. If you're looking for a product that's going to give you a good return on investment, I'd definitely recommend this one. It's a no-brainer. The shipping was fast too - I got it in just a few days. And the ease of use is a breeze - it's so easy to set up and start using right away. I've been really impressed with this product, and I think you will be too. It's a great all-around choice that's hard to beat.
