The botched wallpaper job they thought they'd completedWe thought we'd found the perfect crew to tackle our 13-square-meter corridor renovation. After all, we'd worked with them on a few smaller jobs before. So, we gave them a call, discussed the details, and a 'pro' came over to assess the space. We wanted a laminate floor and some nice new wallpaper. But the guy told us the floor wasn't even, the walls were crooked, and we'd need to get it all leveled out first. We agreed, thinking it'd be a comprehensive job. We even splurged on some high-end wallpaper and laminate flooring.
Boy, were we wrong! We're still dealing with the aftermath of that disaster!
Their slogan: 'Tie it up and call it a day!'We had one guy working on our place, and sometimes his 'colleagues' would drop by, chatting loudly on their phones, speaking little to no Russian. It was like they were running a daycare center, not a renovation service! They promised us a top-notch job, done within a month.
So, they leveled the walls, and the floor... only to make it worse! We watched them work, thinking it was all going smoothly, but then they slapped up the wallpaper and... well, let's just say it was a mess. The guy told us he'd fix it the next day, but when he came back, it was even worse! I was about to have a heart attack when I saw it. He insisted his worker was just having a bad day, and that we were being unreasonable. I asked him why he didn't check the work himself, and he said he was too busy, but his worker was the best at wallpapering, and we were just being unfair. Yeah, right!
I'm writing this in simplified terms. There were so many arguments about not fixing their mistakes, and how we were being too demanding. They kept telling us it was all normal work and that we were being ungrateful.
In the end, they just slapped some walls together with a trowel, and the floor was still uneven. The laminate flooring didn't even lie flat.
This is what the laminate floor looked like on their 'even' floorWe spent 400,000 rubles on this disaster - just for the corridor! For the work, materials, and rework. And that's not even counting the other rooms we had planned to renovate.

A Word of Caution
Before you hire a renovation crew, make sure to do your research. Read reviews, ask for references, and don't be afraid to ask questions. A good renovation service will take the time to listen to your needs and provide you with a clear plan and timeline. They should also be willing to address any concerns you may have and provide a guarantee for their work.
We thought we were getting a good deal, but in the end, we ended up with a disaster on our hands. Don't make the same mistake we did. Take your time, do your research, and hire a reputable renovation service that will get the job done right.
Unprofessional Workmanship: The crew's work was subpar, and they didn't take the time to do it right.Lack of Communication: We had to constantly ask for updates and explanations, and even then, we weren't always satisfied with the answers.Unreasonable Expectations: The crew expected us to be grateful for their subpar work and didn't take responsibility for their mistakes.Don't waste your time and money on a renovation service that doesn't deliver. Choose a reputable company that will get the job done right, and you'll be happy with the results.
