Hello everyone!
Info for OM:
Dear OM, colleagues!
The quotes I've posted are about the brand, taken from an external online source. The quotes are in a random order, inserted into the review for the sake of wordiness, and don't spoil the documentary film itself.
Today I'm sharing one of my favorite reviews because it's all about accessories.
In the comments to one of my reviews, someone said I talk about my hometown with warmth and love. That's true.
I'd like to thank the author of the comment for that.
As a painter (and not just that), I can work from anywhere in the world. Last year, a foreigner asked me to marry him and move to another continent, where I'd live by the ocean. I was happy at first, but when I imagined myself far from my hometown, I felt a deep longing to stay. He didn't want to stay in Russia, and I realized I didn't want to leave either. Why?
Director Vasiliy Medvedev tried to answer that question in his documentary film series, 'I'm a Siberian-Bred.' In 2015, he launched a television 'almanac' series, and the first film in the series was 'The Surgeon', which is about pediatric surgeon Yuri Kozlov, who's saved over 10,000 children in utero.
The second documentary film, 'The Sixth Element,' from the 'I'm a Siberian-Bred' series, came out 10 years later and was released to the public in December 2025.
The film's announcement came out almost immediately, and I loved the title and its logo. I was eagerly waiting for the release of The Sixth Element.
It's backed by the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives, shot at the Fart Studio production center. The film clocks in at 23 minutes.
It's rated 12+.
Check out the stunning Baikal Lake, the beautiful city of Irkutsk, and a successful businesswoman in this documentary.
The film's about Elena Ivanova and her sixth element - the Olafa brand.
We innovate with glass, and our results are made accessible through jewelry.
Glass is the foundation of all our accessories.
Let's meet Elena Ivanova - an Irkutsk native, resident of the Skolkovo innovation center, Woman of the Year 2024, PhD in Chemistry, patent holder, and founder of the Olafa brand, which creates unique jewelry made from glass.
They started with classic Murano glass, but over time, adding quartz, graphite, and other secret ingredients, they developed their own unique glass type. In 2023, they patented a new material – carbon (stone) glass. They not only changed the shape and texture of the jewelry glass, but also its content. It's got a soul.
It's fitting that today, February 8th, is the company's birthday.BEGINNING.
Elena Ivanova will share with the viewer how the brand was created.
The viewer will get a glimpse of the holy grail – the workshop.
From the initial idea to the manufacturing process of the jewelry, all the way to the final result.PRODUCTS.
The film showcases many beautiful products made from jewelry glass.
One of the brand's jewelers will take the viewer through the process of creating these unique pieces.
Olaf's jewelry isn't just made by hand, but often exists in a single, one-of-a-kind piece.
CRISES.
However, in business, as in life, there are ups and downs.
I was curious to learn how Olafa managed to stay afloat when it seemed like the brand was on the verge of shutting down. To find out, I spoke with its founder, Elena Ivanova. Her story is anything but straightforward.
FINDING SUCCESS.Elena's path to success is one that anyone can learn from. It's a formula that can be applied to your own life.
AWARD-WINNING.
Through the film, we see how Elena went from being a stay-at-home mom to becoming a successful entrepreneur and even winning the title of Woman of the Year - 2024.
LOCAL INSPIRATION.
The film highlights how Olafa's authenticity is deeply rooted in its regional heritage.
Get ready to be inspired by the stunning jewelry crafted on Lake Baikal.
Olafa's connection to Lake Baikal is more than just a marketing gimmick. Our workshop is located there, and it's infused into the energy of every piece we create.
Our brand's story comes alive in our beautiful lake-inspired jewelry. We infuse each piece with the magic of Baikal, and sometimes we even take a dip in the lake itself. That's why people wear our brand on all continents, including Antarctica, and in almost 100 countries around the world.
Finally, Elena Ivanova answers the question, why she didn't leave small-town Russia, and instead stayed in her hometown of Irkutsk.
SUMMARY:
I loved the film. The 23 minutes of breathtaking scenery - Baikal, the city of Irkutsk, and the stunning jewelry - left me speechless.
Definitely check out the documentary "The Sixth Element".
My two favorites to read:
- "Alright, are you ready?" - the documentary about Valentina Yudashkina.
- Vasily Zaitsev and his fashion verdict.
Wishing you and your kids good health!
That's it from me, your Julanta.
