Offspring Diapers: Not Worth It for the Price

summarizeEditor's Summary

I tried Offspring diapers with my little one, but after three months of watching the prices, I just couldn't justify the cost. For 1700 rubles per pack with only 42 pieces, I thought it was a total letdown. The bright colors and great reviews had me sold, but the high price and some design flaws made me question the value for money. The softness of these diapers is one of their best features, but it's not enough to make up for the other issues. I'll break down my experience with these diapers, including how they fit, absorbency, and a comparison with other brands.

I'm sharing my honest review of the Offspring diapers, and I'm going to give you the lowdown on how they fit my little one, which model isn't suitable, how they absorb, and I'll compare them to other brands with plenty of photos!
For three months, I was keeping an eye on the prices of these diapers, but I just couldn't bring myself to buy them because the price is super high! Even on sale for around 1700 rubles per pack, which isn't a big one with only 42 pieces, I just couldn't shake off the feeling. But the bright colors and great reviews were making me lose sleep. I mean, who doesn't love a good-looking diaper, right?
One day, I found out I had a lot of bonuses on my card, so I decided to buy one pack with a great discount, plus I ordered a free sample of Offspring underwear.
I was excited to finally get my hands on them, thinking that at last I'd have a peaceful and long night... Opening the pack, I was immediately charmed by the design – I chose the kiwi one!
The inner layer is super soft, and I have to admit, it gives me confidence. The diapers are medium-thick, and if you've used Manu before, these will feel pretty similar - even in terms of design. They're not like Joonies or Huggies Elite Soft at all, which are way thicker. I'm not a fan of the adhesive strips - they're super stiff. If the diaper rides up, they can scratch your baby's legs. They don't swell up too much. In the first photo, the diaper is full. In the second, it's just been put on. My baby weighs 8.3 kg, so I can say these aren't undersized.
To be honest, the design isn't our cup of tea. My baby has chubby legs, but a normal-sized tummy, and these diapers are just too wide. They keep sliding down the sides, but the legs stay put. I think they're designed for bigger tummies. Okay, let's get to the main event! I put one of these on my baby at around 11 pm. By 2 am, they were soaked - I mean, completely soaked. I didn't even think about it at first, but when I checked, they were wet. These are definitely not for nighttime use.
The next morning, I did a little test to see how well they absorb. I poured 150 ml of water into the diaper and let it sit for a bit. Even after 5 minutes, it was still pretty damp.
It's crazy that we're paying so much money just for the color and supposed eco-friendliness. I'm not even sure about the eco-friendliness, though - they don't use chlorine to whiten the diapers, but something similar. Honestly, I think the most eco-friendly option is just using regular cloth diapers and water. Plus, these ones are not one-size-fits-all. We only use them during the day, and I'm definitely not buying them again. There will be a separate review for the Offspring underwear.
If you're into eco-friendly options, consider using cloth diapers. If you prioritize softness and quality, I'd recommend the Moony Natural - they absorb way better than Offspring. I think Manu is a similar brand, but their diapers felt softer and absorbed a ton more. Plus, they're a fraction of the cost and you get twice as many in a pack.
