And when the shorts are too big, it's hard to swim without holding them up with your hands.

So, in the end, we took the 146-152 size, hoping that someone would eat a lot and gain a bit of weight. The idea of altering the shorts was met with disdain - my daughter said it would be shameful and embarrassing. She'd rather swim in regular shorts than in altered swimsuit.
