Editor's Summary
I've tried NRAV's Ultimate Length Mascara, and it's left me with mixed feelings. On the one hand, the packaging is sleek, and the formula is super easy to apply – it doesn't clump, even with my thick lashes. On the other hand, the product didn't quite live up to its promises. I used it for a week, and while the build quality is solid, the battery life is actually better than I expected. Still, I'm not blown away by the performance. Here's the lowdown on what I liked and didn't like about this mascara, plus some tips on whether it's worth the money.
Specifications
Hello everyone!
I first saw NRAV cosmetics all over billboards in my city - they were everywhere. The flashy ads, catchy name, and sleek packaging caught my attention, but it wasn't enough to make me want to buy it. I'd seen their products in every subscription box, though, and that finally won me over.
The NRAV mascara I got was part of a TrendyBox subscription. I was curious to try it out.
Product Name: NRAV ULTIMATE LENGTH Mascara
Country of Origin: China
Where to Buy: ZYA, La Toile, and online marketplaces
Price: Around 700 rubles
The mascara came in a sleek black cardboard box with a luxurious feel to it. The actual tube was pretty basic, a standard plastic container with no frills. I liked the white label on the cap with the product info, though - it was a nice touch, even if it did wear off quickly.
The brush on this mascara is unlike anything I've seen before - it's a conical shape with a bulbous base and a tapered tip, all made of silicone. It looks a bit like a pinecone or a leaf.
I was a bit surprised by the consistency of the mascara right out of the tube. It felt dry, even though it was only October and the expiration date wasn't until December 2026. I'm not sure what caused it, but it definitely made me worry that the mascara would dry out quickly.
The color of the mascara is a nice, dark black, but it's not super pigmented. It's not bad, though - it's just what I'd expect from a mass-market mascara.
The brush is a bit of a problem for me. It's not too big, but the bristles are coarse, which makes it hard for me to apply the mascara evenly. I always end up getting it all over my eyelid and having to reapply.
Because the mascara was a bit dry to start with, my lashes didn't look as full or vibrant as I'd like. But they weren't clumpy or flaky, and they did look pretty fluffy.
As you can see from the photo, I ended up getting a bit of a mess on my lower and upper lash line.
After using the mascara for a month (I was using it in combination with a few other mascaras, as I always have 3-4 open at a time), it started to dry out and lose its effectiveness. My lashes looked pretty sad and sparse.
One good thing about this mascara is that it doesn't flake off throughout the day, even when it's almost completely dry. But, unfortunately, it just doesn't deliver the kind of volume and length that I'm looking for.
I'm not a fan of this mascara, to be honest. The lashes do look nice, but I've got some major issues with the NRAV ULTIMATE LENGTH mascara - the dry texture, the awkward brush, and the price. I've got some cheaper mascaras in my favorites that do the job just as well, if not better, and they don't dry out after a month of use.
I wouldn't recommend it, especially when there are better options out there.
