We stumbled upon the main museum building in Novgorod's Kremlin, and we just had to check it out. We arrived two hours before closing time, which turned out to be the perfect amount of time to explore the entire museum.
The museum has several rooms spread across two floors, each one showcasing a different aspect of Novgorod's rich history. We were blown away by the sheer scale of the museum's collection.The Historical Exhibition What caught our attention was the historical exhibition, which features artifacts found on the territory of Novgorod. It's not just about craftsmanship, but also about the everyday lives of people who lived there. We even got to see some ancient birchbark letters, which were used as a form of communication. One of them read: "Удовися" (You're welcome). I mean, who doesn't love a good text from the past?
