My Thoughts on Nordman's Next Winter Boots

summarizeEditor's Summary

I've put the Nordman Next Winter Boots to the test with my kid, and I'm blown away by how well they perform in freezing temps. The waterproof membrane and natural sheepskin lining kept her legs warm even in -25°C. While they're not without their flaws, I think they're a great value for money. In this review, I'll break down the good, the bad, and everything in between.

I've had my fair share of experience with Nordman's winter boots, and I've gotta say, the Next model didn't disappoint. My kid's legs stayed warm even in temperatures as low as -25°C. I was curious to see how they'd compare to the Lumi model, which I thought was pretty great.
The Highlights:First off, these boots have a fantastic waterproof membrane that's been a total game changer for me. I don't have to worry about wet snow or slush ruining them.
The natural sheepskin lining inside is another thing that's impressed me. My daughter wore them all winter, even in -25°C, and her legs stayed warm. She'd wear thermals under them, but they'd still be toasty.
The boot shaft isn't too wide, which is a nice change from some of Nordman's other models. It's easy to slip them over your pant legs.
The sole is thick and provides great insulation from the cold ground.
The lacing system is super secure and keeps your foot in place.
The tongue on the boot is a nice touch - it makes a big difference in comfort.
And to top it off, the boots are surprisingly lightweight.
One thing I really like is the extra protection on the toes.
The Not-So-Good Stuff:One thing to note is that they can be a bit slippery on icy surfaces.
If your kid isn't very active, their legs might get cold in extreme cold. For little ones, I'd recommend Nordman's classic Lumi model instead.
I'm really impressed with these boots, but unfortunately, they only come in up to size 35. If you're looking for a great pair of winter boots, I think these are worth every penny.
If you want to know more about the difference between Nordman's Lumi, Lumi 2.0, and Next models, or how to choose the right size, I've got a whole post on that here.
Size 33 measurements are here. Thanks for reading, and feel free to ask me any questions in the comments!
