Hello everyone!
I'm a dog owner, and my poor pup is 15 years old, but she's still a part of the family and needs proper care.
Over the past few months, her health has been declining, and we've been taking her to the vet for regular check-ups. After her last round of tests, our vet prescribed Neofrantitox for dogs and cats to improve kidney function and maintain kidney health.
I've never given her this exact medication before, and we've always used human medications in the past.
Following our vet's instructions, I purchased the recommended veterinary medication on Ozon marketplace.
This medication is quite pricey, and the 12-day course cost us around 1750 rubles.
Description:
Neofrantitox is a prescription medication for dogs and cats to improve kidney function and maintain kidney health (in complex therapy or as a monotherapy) in cases of kidney insufficiency. It's also used to normalize and control exchange process disorders (including intoxication, anemia, hyperphosphatemia, hyperazotemia) that occur in chronic kidney insufficiency at different stages of the disease.

Packaging ✅
It comes in a cardboard box with all the necessary information, including the application method, composition, storage conditions, and manufacturer's data.
The box contains a white, opaque bottle with the medication, an instruction manual, and a measuring spoon to accurately measure the dosage for each application.
The package includes a powder container, an instruction manual, and a measuring spoon that's extremely inconvenient.
From the first bottle, the measuring spoon broke almost immediately, it's flimsy and short, making it difficult to scoop out the powder from the deep container.
This supplement has nephroprotective, hepatoprotective, antioxidant, and restorative effects, which is great for supporting the kidneys of an elderly animal.
The instruction is quite informative, but I wish it provided more guidance on how to mix the powder.
The information is duplicated on the bottle, which is a bit redundant.
It helps to improve the functioning and support of kidney work, suitable for both dogs and cats.Composition and packaging:
I'm not a fan of the fact that it comes in a powder form - it's hard to mix, the dog refuses to drink it, and it doesn't work well in dry food either, only in oatmeal.
The medicinal product Neofroantitox contains the following active substances in 1 gram:
pyridoxine hydrochloride - 5 mg, artichoke leaf extract - 50 mg, calcium carbonate - 80 mg, and as auxiliary substances: chitin, potassium citrate, lactose.
The composition is good, except for vitamin B6, there's artichoke extract which is great for cleaning toxins and calcium carbonate. Here's what the powder looks like - light gray.
This powder can be given on a regular basis to those with chronic kidney insufficiency.Doses and method of administration:
The medicinal product Neofroantitox is administered to animals orally with food or water for drinking in a dose of 1 g per 5 kg of animal mass 2 times a day for 2-6 months depending on the severity of the disease or as prescribed by a veterinarian.
The product was prescribed to be given to our dog 2 times a day. For a 28 kg dog, 3 measuring spoons are needed per dose.
I ordered a large batch of 100 grams, which is more cost-effective, and it's also sold in a 50 gram dosage, but the first option is more cost-effective.
The taste doesn't appeal to the dog, I have to mix it with food, otherwise it's impossible to give it to them, I've tried adding it to water, but they refuse it. Apparently, the taste isn't pleasant.
Side effects and complications:
Side effects and complications when using the medicinal product in accordance with this instruction are usually not observed.
This product is great for supporting the kidneys of an elderly animal, there's nothing bad in it, and in our case, there were no side effects either.
Our problem with excessive water consumption has decreased, and I hope this product is helping.Honestly, the price is a bit steep, but it's worth it in my book.
I'm really hoping this medication does some good for my old pet's kidneys.
I've read that a lot of cat owners give this to their cats when they have kidney stones.
This is a decent option for treating our furry friends, and I've seen some positive results, but be warned, the powder can be a real pain to work with.
Thanks for listening!
