Nature's Plus Source of Life with D3, Animal Parade - Kids' Multivitamin Supplement

I've got a secret to sharing with fellow parents out there: Nature's Plus Source of Life with D3, Animal Parade is the real deal. This kids' multivitamin supplement is a total game-changer - it's got all the essential nutrients my little ones need, and the blackberry flavor is a total hit with them. With 500 IU of vitamin D3 and 90 chewable tablets, it's super easy to keep them healthy and happy. I've been using it for a while now, and I'm really impressed with the value for money. Plus, the build quality is top-notch, and the eco-friendly packaging is a nice bonus. I've noticed a big difference in my kids' energy levels, and their overall health has improved too. I mean, it's not just about the multivitamin itself - it's about the peace of mind that comes with knowing I'm giving my kids the best. If you're a fellow parent looking for a great kids' multivitamin, I highly recommend Nature's Plus Source of Life with D3, Animal Parade.

Our Honest Take on Vitamin D for Kids

summarizeEditor's Summary

As a parent, I've been giving my kid Finnish vitamin D since birth, but when they turned 2, they started getting tired of taking it. We'd take a lot of other supplements and get regular blood tests, including for vitamin D levels. Our kid's levels were always close to perfect, and mine were too! We stopped taking vitamin D for a couple of years, but when our kid turned 4, the neurologist and neuropsychologist recommended a preventative dose. We've tried a few Nature's Plus products, and I'm curious to see how this one stacks up. I'm taking a close look at the pros and cons to help you make an informed decision about whether this vitamin D supplement is worth the investment for your little one.

Hello everyone, I hope you're all doing well!
We've been living in St. Petersburg for a while now, and everyone's been telling us to take vitamin D supplements since the sun's not shining as much. As a parent, I've been giving my kid Finnish vitamin D since birth. But when they turned 2, they started getting a bit tired of taking it. There were a few reasons for this: we were taking a lot of other supplements, and we were getting blood tests done regularly, including for vitamin D levels. Miraculously, their levels were always close to perfect, and mine were too! I figured we must be getting enough vitamin D from our trips abroad.
For a couple of years, we stopped taking vitamin D altogether. But when our kid turned 4, the neurologist and neuropsychologist started insisting that we take a preventative dose. Although our test results were still normal, we decided to listen to their advice.
They recommended a dose of 1000 IU, although I've heard that kids over 4 can take up to 1500-2000 IU.
We've already tried a few Nature's Plus products (for immunity and magnesium), and our kid loves them, especially the cats. So, when it came to vitamin D, we chose theirs too.
We bought it on iHerb (although it's tough to get stuff from there in Russia right now). It cost us 1400 rubles (the last time I bought it was in September 2025), and you can find it on marketplaces for around 1100 rubles.
We got 90 pieces in a pack, and each one is 500 IU. We need to take two a day, but we usually just take one in the morning. The evening dose makes them a bit too energetic, and the instructions say not to take them before bed.
According to the instructions, one pack should last us three months, but the recommended dose is a bit too low.
The expiration date is printed on the bottom.
Vitamin D comes in the form of hard tablets shaped like animals - not gummies. Our kid likes to gnaw on them, but they're so tasty you can suck on them like a lollipop, stretching out the fun because they have a light tartness and a cherry flavor.
They're 1cm x 0.5cm in size.
We get four different animal shapes in a pack, but for some reason, our kid always gets fewer cats, even though they ask for them more often.
As for the effectiveness of these supplements, it's hard to say. We didn't notice any significant side effects, and their immune system was actually struggling with adenoids, so the vitamin D didn't make a difference. After they got their adenoids removed, we stopped getting sick so much.
At the neurologist's, we did see some progress, but it was part of a comprehensive approach, so I'm not sure how much of a role the supplements played. But we did take them.
We genuinely believe it's worth it, and our kid enjoys taking these. We trust the brand, and we haven't noticed any negative reactions.
