Name Skin Care's Green Tea Mask: A Mixed Bag with a Major Turnoff

summarizeEditor's Summary

I'm a huge fan of fabric face masks, and I make them after work and on weekends. I recently picked the Name Skin Care Green Tea Mask from my stash, and I was hoping it wouldn't let me down. The packaging is sleek and stylish, but the text on the back is tiny and barely readable. I was also a bit disappointed by the material - it's dense and pleasant, but not super pliable. The ingredients aren't explicitly listed, but it contains green tea extract, which is a plus. Despite its flaws, this mask still provides some benefits, like toning and hydration. It's a great value for money, especially considering the price. I've been using it 1-2 times a week, and it's been okay. Not amazing, but okay. Name Skin Care's Green Tea Mask: A Mixed Bag with a Major Turnoff
I'm a huge fan of fabric face masks, and I make them after work and on weekends. I always choose one before important events, dates, or any other occasion where I need to look my best. This time, I was getting ready for a big event and decided to pick one from my stash, and I landed on the Name Skin Care Green Tea Mask. I'd never tried this brand before, so I was hoping it wouldn't let me down.
The packaging of the Name Skin Care Green Tea Mask is sleek, minimalist, and stylish - I love it. The design is top-notch, and the cut-outs for easy opening make it a breeze to use. However, the text on the back is tiny and barely readable, but I'm not really bothered about that. I know how to use fabric masks, and I'm not too keen on trusting product claims.
The ingredients of the Name Skin Care Green Tea Mask are not explicitly listed, but the packaging does mention that it contains green tea extract. I'm not sure what else is in it, but I'm hoping it's not too harsh on my skin.
When I first opened the mask, I was a bit disappointed by the material. It's dense and pleasant, but not super pliable. I prefer a thinner material - it's more comfortable on my skin and less prone to creasing. However, the aroma of the mask is where things start to go wrong. It's supposed to be refreshing and tea-like, but there's an undercurrent of something bad. It's like the smell of stale, damp rags. And honestly, that's really off-putting for me, but I figured I'd give it a chance and see if it wouldn't be as noticeable on my skin.
I've got combination skin - it's prone to oiliness, with a shiny finish and enlarged pores. I also have uneven tone and some redness. Age: 30. I was hoping this mask would really hydrate my skin, leave it feeling soft and comfortable. It'd be great if it could even out my skin tone a bit and reduce some of the redness. And most importantly, I wanted it to be completely comfortable to use - no itchiness, no stinging, and no lingering stickiness.
When I slapped on the face mask in a rush, thinking I'd be heading to an important meeting, and only later realized the weird, damp-cloth smell when I moved my face. It was a total turn-off. I regret not washing my face after using it. I could still smell it for over 30 minutes. Maybe I got used to it, or maybe it just faded away, but that awful moment totally ruined it for me. I'm not sure if it's just me, or if there's something wrong with the mask, but it's been stored properly, and I've kept it in a decent environment. Whatever the case, I won't be using it again.
Despite the major turnoff of the smell, the Name Skin Care Green Tea Mask does have some redeeming qualities. The price is reasonable, and the design is sleek and stylish. The hydration is also pretty good - my skin felt more nourished, tighter, and smoother. The fine lines on my forehead were still there, but it felt like my skin was at least less dry.
However, the smell is a deal-breaker for me. Even thinking about it makes me shudder. If you're not put off by the scent, it does work well, so you might want to give it a try. But for me, it's a hard no.
I wouldn't recommend it. The smell is just too overpowering, and it's not worth the risk. If you're looking for a face mask that's comfortable to use and doesn't have a weird smell, I'd suggest looking elsewhere.

That awful smell
