I'm Hooked on This Weird Pen That Looks Like a Deodorant - It's Perfect for Quick Self-Portraits!
Hello everyone, subscribers and readers!
I have to admit, I was a total rebel in elementary school. Using erasers and correction tapes was strictly forbidden by my teacher. She'd always say that crossing out mistakes with a pencil was the best way to avoid making a mess in our notebooks. Times have changed, and those awful-smelling correction tapes have been replaced by correction ribbons, which aren't as strictly banned in school.
However, I'm not a student anymore, so I don't know much about the latest rules and innovations for young students. Maybe they'll be given tablets soon and will print out their work instead of writing with pens!
Recently, I've been filling out a lot of forms where making mistakes is really not an option. That's why I started thinking about buying one of those magic pens. From my school days, I associated these devices with the smudges that correction tapes made when you tried to erase them with a rubber. So, I took the choice very seriously and even consulted with a sales expert.
There are two types of pens - gel and regular. As you might have guessed, I chose the regular one.
The price was 115 rubles, I bought it at the 'Amital' store, and the ink color is blue.
Line thickness: 0.5 mm
Erasing type: heat-activated
This is a heat-activated erasable pen. The pen cover has a Soft Touch finish. The thermochromic ink becomes invisible when heated to 60°C or above. The heat is achieved by friction from the built-in eraser in the pen cap. The discolored ink reappears at a temperature below -18°C. Multiple erasable and writable cycles are possible. The number of writing/erasing cycles is limited by the paper's durability. The pen's color is assorted.
So, the pen's design is quite presentable, with a rich blue color and a high-quality matte plastic. After writing for a while, I gave it a five out of five for ergonomics. The pen feels comfortable in my hand, and I don't need to apply much pressure to write - a light touch is enough. The ink doesn't smudge and dries quickly.
I hope you're smiling by nowI've got to say, the eraser itself is a solid, spherical shape (it reminds me of the ball in stick deodorants - I even felt the urge to test my deodorant's ability to remove ink from paper)
When you press down hard on the paper after using the eraser, you're left with some marks - but that's just a matter of technique, and you'll get used to it. Most cheap pens require you to apply a lot of physical force to get the ink to flow.
One thing that's really great about this pen is that the eraser leaves no residue on the paper after removing the text - which is a big plus compared to the rubber erasers I've seen in stores. In my opinion, the hard eraser is less likely to smudge the paper and can even remove marks almost completely with a bit of practice.
What else do you need to know about the Write & Erase pens?
This type of pen isn't suitable for filling out documents that need to be kept for a long time!
Would I recommend the Write & Erase pen by BERLINGO?
Yes, I'd definitely recommend it. Even if your kid's not allowed to use pens like this, you can still show them a fun game called 'secret messages' and even use it to correct numbers in forms or questionnaires.
I've got to say, these ink pens are super sensitive to heat, so please don't leave them in direct sunlight or near any other heat sources!
What's cool is that when the ink fades, the actual paper base stays behind, and you can even revive the writing just by cooling it down to -10 to -18°C. This means you can write secret messages, heat them up (with a hair dryer or lighter, for example) before sending, and then freeze them to keep them private.

I hope this review was helpful!
This pen is really impressive. It's a great tool for anyone who wants to add a bit of fun to their writing experience. The heat-activated eraser is a game-changer, and the pen's design is both stylish and functional. If you're looking for a pen that's perfect for quick self-portraits or secret messages, this is definitely the one to choose.
However, it's worth noting that this type of pen isn't suitable for filling out documents that need to be kept for a long time. The ink can fade over time, and the paper base may become damaged. But for casual use, this pen is a great choice.
