Zinc Chelate
When I see 'Zinc Chelate', I assume it's any organic compound of the mineral with an amino acid (glycinate, gluconate, picolinate, etc.).
In this bioactive supplement from SOLGAR, we have → Zinc Bisglycinate ↓↓↓
This is a chelated form of zinc with the amino acid glycine, where one zinc molecule is bonded to two glycine molecules.
It's characterized by high stability and bioavailability, and doesn't cause any issues with the digestive system when taken.
High bioavailability doesn't mean 100% of the zinc is absorbed by the body!
Even at the best of times, from the 22mg of zinc in each tablet, we get 11-13mg = the recommended daily intake!
Zinc Chelate by SolgarThe recommended daily intake is 12mg (Russia)
The maximum permissible intake is 25mg (Russia)
So don't worry about overdoing it on the zinc – I take one tablet a day, and that's fine! Especially if you follow the manufacturer's instructions and take this essential mineral with a meal.

How to Take Zinc
Let's get real - following the rules for taking Zinc isn't just a suggestion, it's crucial! If you don't, you'll be waiting ages for the benefits to kick in.
Zinc is a bit of a diva, so it's not recommended to take it with food.
It doesn't play nice with dairy products or iron-rich foods - tea, coffee, and chocolate are all off-limits too! To be honest, the list of things it doesn't get along with is pretty long.
The best way to take it is on an empty stomach, an hour before breakfast.
Alternatively, you can take it before bed, but make sure it's at least two to three hours after dinner.
I used to take it in the morning, but now I'm all about the bedtime routine. Plus, it's great for those trying to shed a few pounds!
While we're sleeping, Zinc gets to work stimulating the production of 'fat-burning' hormones.
Solgar Zinc Chelate ★★★ My Experience with Solgar Zinc Chelate
The packaging is a standard dark glass bottle with info in both English and Russian.
The tablets are odorless, medium-sized, and easy to swallow.
All in all, it's business as usual with Solgar - top-notch quality.

I've been taking Zinc regularly since 2020.
I stick to a three-month course.
I take it not just for immune system support during the colder months, but also because I have trouble absorbing Vitamin A.
Before I started taking Zinc, I was constantly deficient in Vitamin A. And, as a result, I had some pretty serious skin issues, and I was basically blind in the evenings.
A Zinc deficiency can disrupt the conversion of Vitamin A into its active form, which the body can absorb, and lead to a Vitamin A deficiency in tissues!
I've gotta say, I'm really loving the Solgar Zinc Chelate! I've seen some amazing results with zero negative reactions or allergies. I used to swear by Zinc Picolinate, thinking it was more effective, but now I'm seeing that the Zinc Chelate is just as good.
✔ First off, it's done wonders for my skin, nails, and hair.
✔ Second, I've noticed I've lost my sweet tooth when I take Zinc!
✔ And third, my 'fowl vision' is a thing of the past.
