Editor's Summary
I'm still trying to wrap my head around how this driving school stays in business. My experience was a complete disaster from start to finish. The admin staff and payment process are a total mess. Some people claim you can only pay with cash while others say you can pay with SBT. To make matters worse, the theory classes were a joke, and the instructors are completely unqualified. What's more surprising - the school's lack of basic customer service or the fact that they're still open for business?
Specifications
I'm still trying to wrap my head around how this driving school stays in business, but my experience was a complete and utter disaster.
I signed up for classes in categories A and B, thinking I'd finally get the training I needed to become a confident driver, but boy was I wrong.
Let's start with the admin staff and payment process - it's a total mess, plain and simple.
- The people in charge are clueless about how to handle payments. Some say cash and SBT, while others claim you can only pay with cash. It's ridiculous that they don't offer multiple payment options like every other business, it's just basic customer service.
The same admins give different people different information, which is just confusing. When you're taking classes for two categories, you naturally wonder if you need to take the theory test twice, since the theory for both categories is basically the same.
But no, they can't even agree on that. Some say take it once, while others claim you need to take it twice - there's no clear answer, and that's just frustrating.
The theory classes were a joke, to be honest.
They'll offer you a ton of options for class locations, but half the time, there won't be a group in your area. Good luck if you want to take classes in person - you'll be crammed into a tiny room with 15 other people, it's just not a great experience.
- And don't even get me started on the instructors. I got lucky with mine, but I've heard horror stories from other students. Some instructors don't even explain the basics, like how the internal exam works or what you need to do to pass, it's like they're not even trying.
Driving classes were a nightmare, to say the least.
- Again, I got lucky with my instructor for category B, but it's clear that they're not qualified. Many instructors are just freelancers who work with the school - you won't see them on the website, and that's just not transparent.
I found out how lucky I was when I heard from other students that some of them didn't even get a proper driving area, or that their instructor wouldn't let them go above 30 km/h. One student even had to deal with an instructor who wouldn't let them make any turns, it's just not right.
- You won't get the 56 hours of driving practice you're promised. In the best case, you'll get 20 hours. The contract doesn't even mention the number of hours, so don't bother trying to hold them accountable, it's just a waste of time.
- My instructor for category A was a total disaster. He just showed me how to drive and then left me to figure it out on my own. He'd occasionally glance up from his phone to see if I was still alive, it was like he didn't even care.
The exam was a whole different level of frustrating, to put it mildly.
The theory part is okay, since it's just a multiple-choice test. But the driving exam is a whole different story, it's like they're trying to fail you on purpose.
They'll try to intimidate you into paying for extra lessons. Several students had to retake the exam, and most of them just ended up paying for it instead of trying to pass it on their own, it's just not fair.
So, in the end, it's clear that this school is all about making money, not about teaching you how to drive. If you have experience, you can probably find something cheaper and still get a decent education. But if you want quality training, find a better school and pay a bit more - at least you'll save your sanity, and that's worth it in my book.
I wouldn't recommend this school to my worst enemy, it's just that bad.
