DPD - a delivery company, delivering packages and cargo.
Hello reader.
I wanted to share a story with you, but it's not exactly the kind of news I'd call good.
Background.
About two months ago, I lost my gold earrings from Sanlight again. It happened because I tried to use my earrings to open the SIM card slot in my phone. I thought 375 proof was low but all-powerful, so I gave it a shot. The earrings handled the iPhone's slot just fine, but they failed with Android. One of the earrings broke.
Let me remind you that this isn't my first disappointing experience with Sanlight. Last August, I lost these earrings from Sanlight too. One of them fell off my earlobe, which I didn't even notice at first. Despite the higher proof - 585 - it didn't make a difference.
I wore the first pair proudly for almost 8 months, and the second one got lost within a month of buying it. That's Sanlight for you. But it didn't deter me. I ordered a third pair.
For some reason, I thought that if I changed the delivery method, maybe the third pair's fate would be more fortunate. I ordered door-to-door courier delivery.
In the past, I've always picked up my earrings myself, from stores with self-service pickup. There are three jewelry stores in my city, and I didn't feel drawn to their consultants. It felt like I was visiting them at home.
The main story.
I wasn't really sure how the store would handle courier delivery, so I assumed it would work like this: the courier would pick up the item from the nearest store to my home, and deliver it the next day.
But the jewelers and couriers had a good laugh at my expense.
The item is actually shipped from Moscow, despite the number of physical stores in my region. So, I had to wait exactly 8 days for delivery.
Of course, you can't ignore the holidays I was on during that time - they love to blame these services for it.
I also want to note that the item was handed over to the courier on the same day I ordered it. I got an SMS notification with a link to track the order. But since I haven't been reviewing anything for a long time (I don't need anyone's help, oh, productive collaboration. Plus, Polaris hasn't been responding to me for a long time, and the others aren't interesting to me, so I just waited and didn't pay attention to which courier service was delivering it.
Delivery Day.
I'm reminding you, I chose the delivery window from 13 to 18 on 02.05. Delivery day arrived, a couple of hours before the promised time, I received an SMS message with the courier's phone number, name, and most importantly, the time when he would arrive at my doorstep.
And then I was in for a surprise. The courier didn't show up at the appointed time.
I didn't call, but the courier called me, and not at 13.18, but at 16.10.
The conversation went something like this.
-Girl, I'm running late, can I leave your order at the Yandex.Market at this address (located 1 km from my home)?
I asked.
-Why exactly at this house? There's a Yandex.Market closer to my home.
-Girl, I'm saying I'm running late.
I asked again.
-Can I reschedule the delivery for the next day?
And it started.
-Let's try, I'm not sure.
What does 'let's try' mean? Are we going to taste it at VkusVill?
I asked again.
-I've been waiting for this product for a week! Is that how it's done?
-Well, you understand, it's the holidays.
I was forced to agree to leave my item at the Yandex.Market pickup point, which is not even in the neighboring house. Simply because I didn't know when I would be able to receive my item and even get it.
I'd also like to note that the item's price is not small. 5200 rubles, leaving it just like that in the neighboring Yandex.Market, which is not responsible for the preservation of Dpd shipments, is a nightmare, reader!
Luckily, I went straight to the pickup point after the phone call and picked up my item. Everything was handed over, no passport was required, only the house number was clarified.
Time for the verdict.
After the phone call, I immediately contacted Dpd's technical support in Telegram, where they simply replied:
-I see your order has been delivered. If you didn't receive it, you can file a complaint.
What complaint?
I mean, the courier didn't deliver the order to my doorstep at the appointed time, and he even marked the status as 'delivered' when I hadn't even picked it up from the pickup point.
Naturally, I would not recommend this delivery service under any circumstances.
I'm really disappointed with the service for being rude and arrogant to the delivery personI'm also not happy with the way they misled me about the delivery timeThe delivery was dropped off at a distant Yandex pickup point, not even the nearest oneThe delivery took a long timeI'm also not impressed with the customer support, which just suggested I file a complaint instead of actually investigating the issue. Why couldn't they just talk to the delivery person?
So, I'm giving the service a negative rating - not just a single star, but a stretched-out single star. To be honest, my experience with this service was so bad that it's put me off Sanlait, and if anything else goes wrong with my third pair of earrings, I'll be going to a different jeweler for the fourth.
It would've been easier and faster to just pick it up myself, but the nearest Sanlait jeweler isn't within walking distance, so I guess I just saved on transportation costs, but I still didn't get the item delivered to my doorstep as promised.
I mean, over 2000 reviews on this service with an average rating of 1.4 - just think about it! A single star in every aspect.
