A Great Read for Family Road Trips: Our Moscow Train Station Adventure

summarizeEditor's Summary

This book is a total winner for family road trips, especially if you've got kids who love trains and learning. It's a great value for money, considering how much my kids picked up from it. The story of Moscow's train stations is seriously engaging, and the kids had a blast flipping through the pages to find their favorite stations. The build quality is decent, but the soft cover might not withstand heavy use. I was pleasantly surprised by how much history and cool facts were packed into this super-thin book. It's a great way to get kids excited about travel and learning, and it's perfect for kids aged 6 and above.

We took the kids to Moscow for the holidays in January and wanted to get them excited about our trip by reading up on the places we'd be visiting beforehand. So, I picked up this book about the history of Moscow's train stations – it was a great value for money, considering how much the kids would learn from it.
The book is super thin, with a soft cover, 24 pages, and measures 0.5 x 21 x 27 cm. It's published by "Nastya and Nikita" and is suitable for kids aged 6 and above. The build quality is pretty decent, too.
The book tells the story of how train stations came to be, and then goes into detail about each of Moscow's train stations, their histories, and some pretty cool facts. The ease of use is another plus – the kids could easily flip through the pages and find their favorite train stations.
, I loved the part about the three train stations that share a square: Kazansky, Yaroslavsky, and Leningradsky. The kids were fascinated by the way they're connected.
, It also talks about Rizhsky, Belarusian, Kiev, Pavlovsky, and Savelovsky train stations – each one has its own unique history and features. The book does a great job of making these stories engaging and easy to understand.
Reading this before our trip made it even more enjoyable to explore and appreciate the sights when we got there. The kids were really engaged and asked great questions about the different train stations.
I'd definitely recommend this book to anyone planning a family trip to Moscow – it's a great way to get the kids excited and informed about the places you'll be visiting.
