Hello, lovelies!

I had one of those days recently that I'll be talking about for months to come, and one experience that topped the charts was a visit to the beauty salon 'Mone' at Voykovskaya station in the Metropolis Mall. It was absolutely phenomenal!
I'm not one to win anything special, but this time I scored a professional skincare set for my face (I'll show you soon!). With the box in hand and a day off in Moscow, I decided it was time to give my locks a good clean.

I usually go to a trusted hairstylist I've been seeing for 15 years. But when she's not around, I end up in all sorts of funny situations related to getting my hair cut. I really hoped that the Premium-class beauty salon, which the 'Mone' chain positions itself as, wouldn't leave me in one of those situations.
As I approached the salon, I remembered what I'd heard about it, and the prices that came to mind. But you know, girls, money attracts money, and situations attract situations. And once you feel like a queen, that feeling stays with you for a long time. So, on this day, I decided that I didn't care how much my hair treatment would cost (I adore my hair, and it's below my shoulders). Life's short, and I'm the only one living it.

'Mone' in Metropolis is located on the 3rd floor in the new part of the mall, where the TSUM is also located. The big, bright space is almost empty because it was a weekday morning, and the salon had only just opened – it's been around for just over 4 months, and not many people know about it yet. The visible part of the salon (the hairstyling area) is divided into two zones, each with 4 chairs. The shelves are stocked with professional haircare products, mainly Kerastase.
Normally, I get my hair trimmed with hot scissors (never with a machine, because it leaves a terrible cut, and I end up needing to use it every month). So, I asked about this service specifically.
I was surprised to find out that the Mone place didn't have hot scissors, which I later learned was because the tool costs a pretty penny. That's weird, considering the prices at Mone aren't exactly cheap either. You'd think they could splurge.
The administrator suggested I get a trim with thinning scissors, which was a new experience for me, but I agreed. I immediately asked about the price – 2,500 rubles, just like a regular haircut. Nothing shady! I'm staying put! (Usually, I pay around 1,200 rubles for hot scissors).
I was led to the waiting area, where they took my coat and hung it in the coat rack, then sat me down on a bright green, super comfy chair, gave me a magazine, and offered tea or coffee. Of course, I opted for the coffee with milk! I didn't have to wait long – just 10 minutes.
A young woman with a stylish haircut (!) and a lovely smile walked in, and she led me to the chair. She took a close look at my hair, asked me a bunch of questions about my preferences. To be honest, they were pretty simple – get rid of the frizz all over and trim the split ends by about 2 centimeters. The master assured me she wouldn't take off more than 2 centimeters and that I could keep most of my hair since it's generally healthy.

Next up was a meditative head massage that lasted a whopping 20 minutes with amazing massaging skills. The master asked how much time I had, since trimming long hair can be a long process) I had 2 hours.
The hair dryer was used with my head facing down, and only with my consent.
Let's talk about the ends. It turns out that a "trim with thinning scissors" is just a fancy way of saying they use a twist-and-cut technique.
It took a lot of time to work on my long hair – about 1.5 hours, and the work was done very carefully. The whole time, we chatted, and of course, we gossiped – the master told me a lot of interesting things about my hair structure, hair care (although after a year with IRece, I could probably tell her a thing or two about hair care), the right way to comb my hair (you all know about Tangle, and many of you use it), and the dangers of using a hair trimmer...
After my procedures, my hair was treated with a 'tip sealing' composition and handed over to the administrator. I paid exactly the amount mentioned at the beginning - 2,500 rubles. They gave me a business card with the name of my stylist written on it. That's a very professional move, by the way. I've never seen anything like it in any other salon.

You can also get a pedicure and manicure at the salon.
I was so happy and at peace, that I forgot to take photos during the session (it wouldn't have been very convenient or suitable, anyway) and took pictures of my hair at home the next day. As you can see, the result is great, and my hair length remains intact.

And you know what conclusion I came to once again? Don't look for the salon, find the stylist and then follow them everywhere! The salon can't guarantee the quality of service - it's all down to the stylist's skill and their commitment to their work.
I couldn't say I'll be going back there again, just because I live far from the place. But! I'm really happy with the experience, because my hair has stayed with me for some time, almost all of its length intact, and the service was great, the stylist was a professional.
Would I recommend the 'Mone' salon on Voykovskaya? Absolutely! Save up and feel like a queen 😉
