Why I'm Hooked on Mistral's Ptitim: A Game-Changing Side Dish

summarizeEditor's Summary

I'm obsessed with Mistral's ptitim, a game-changing side dish made from hard wheat. It's ridiculously easy to cook and adds a nice depth to any meal. I've been experimenting with it nonstop, and I'm hooked. Whether you add it to soups, salads, or use it as a side dish, ptitim's versatility is unbeatable. I've tried it with a variety of sauces, from classic tomato to creamy pesto, and each time, it's a winner. The unique texture and mild flavor make it a great base for experimenting with different sauces. Plus, it's a great source of fiber and protein, making it a nutritious addition to my meals.

Hello there!
I've been hearing about ptitim for a while now, but I'm guessing not many people have actually tried it. This pasta-like stuff is made from hard wheat, but it looks and tastes pretty unique.
I always keep a stash of ptitim at home. It's a great addition to my kitchen, and I love experimenting with it to make interesting side dishes. You can even add it to soups instead of vermicelli, or use it to make a salad.
You can find ptitim at most large stores, as well as online retailers and marketplaces like Wildberries, Ozon, and MegaMarket.
The price is a bit higher than similar products, but we're paying for the packaging and the quality of its contents.
The cardboard box is designed in Mistral's style, with product info on all sides. Be sure to check out the composition, cooking instructions, and nutritional and energy value.
You can also learn more about what ptitim is and how it's made.
Mistral's ptitim is 100% natural, with no chemicals added.
The package weighs 450 grams. While it doesn't look bulky, I can tell you from experience that it can be enough for 2 meals for a family of 3-4 people if you're making a side dish, rather than just adding it to soups and salads (the consumption will be much lower in that case).
The warranty period is pretty good – 2 years.
One nice touch from the manufacturer is the small window for opening and closing the box.
Through the transparent window, you can already take a peek at the product.
Now, let me show you up close how this pasta is unusual-looking. By the name, yes, and looking at it, you might think it's a grain, but it's actually a pasta. And it looks like half-jewels or mini candies – small, round, flat, wheat-colored.
They look neat and don't have a strong smell.
They're made from hard wheat varieties, and you can eat them, even if you're on a diet or follow a P.P. plan.
And, thanks to their unusual appearance, kids of all ages enjoy eating them.
Preparing ptitim is a breeze – just follow the instructions on the box.
I boil water, add some salt, and toss in the Ptitim. For a single serving, you'll need about 100 grams of pasta.
I let it cook, stirring occasionally to prevent it from sticking to the bottom.
Ptitim by Mistral cooks in just 12 minutes. If you want it al dente, cook it for 8 minutes, and for a fully cooked dish, it'll take 10-12 minutes with the lid closed on low heat.
The key is not to overcook it, as the manufacturer's instructions are there for a reason!
I've bought Ptitim from another brand before, and it took me 20-25 minutes to cook, which is way too long.
After cooking, I carefully drain the water through a sieve.
And that's it, the side dish is ready.
I never make al dente, as no one in my family likes a hard center.
The pasta is soft to the bite, but holds its shape, grain to grain. It doesn't overcook and doesn't clump together.
So Ptitim is great for soups and salads.
When compared to raw Ptitim, the cooked version is almost identical in size and color.
Pasta goes well with just about anything – veggies, seafood, or even just ketchup.
As for the taste – these are high-quality small pasta made from hard wheat varieties, slightly unusual.
Grains separate easily from each other when mixed, and they have a nice springiness in the mouth.
You can serve it hot, warm, or even cold.
It turned out incredibly delicious, juicy, and filling.
Anyone can prepare this pasta, and you can also experiment and create masterpieces!
I highly recommend trying "Ptitim for Mediterranean dishes" by MISTRAL, at least for a change of pace! I'm sure you'll fall in love with it, just like I did.
