Hello everyone, and welcome to my review!
As the seasons change, it's more important than ever to prioritize our health. My family and I usually take multivitamins or specific supplements during this time, and we always make sure to get our omega-3 fix. For my 5-year-old, I opt for kid-friendly options, of course. You might see products like Kusalochna or Polaris and Mirrola in pharmacies. We're familiar with these brands, so I'll share my thoughts on Mirrolla's Omega-3 supplement.

A Few Words from the Official Lineup:
Taking omega-3 and vitamins A, E, and D supports intellectual development, eye health, immune system strength, and has a positive impact on skin, hair, bone, and tooth growth.
Any doctor will tell you that a balanced diet is the foundation for a growing child. But let's face it, kids can be picky eaters, and the quality of food in stores is often questionable. My child has a very limited palate and is a frequent fussy eater, so I'm always on the lookout for ways to supplement their diet. As the saying goes:
Don't worry about drafts, worry about the plate
That's our situation, and that's why I'm a big fan of these supplements. With Mirrolla's Omega-3 supplement, my child gets a daily dose of omega-3, vitamin A, vitamin E, and vitamin D3. If only the percentage of these essential nutrients was a bit higher...
The Packaging
The capsules come in a bright, eye-catching package with a kid-friendly design. The cardboard box is nicely done, and my child actually wants to take these vitamins.
Here's the lowdown on the supplement - the manufacturer, ingredients, recommendations, and the rest:
The manufacturing date is duplicated on the packaging and the bottle itself.
Inside the cardboard packaging, you'll find a plastic bottle with capsules. The lid screws on with a tamper-evident seal, matching the design of the outer packaging.
Nothing particularly stands out about the packaging - it's easy to use and store.
Let's take a look at the information about the supplement provided by the manufacturer:
Ingredients:
Active ingredients: Fish oil from oceanic breeds, alpha-tocopherol acetate; retinol acetate, cholecalciferol;
Excipients: Tocopherol mixture - antioxidant; capsule shell: food-grade gelatin, dextrin - filler, natural 'beta-carotene' colorant, glycerin - moisture-retaining agent, citric acid - antioxidant, natural 'tutti-frutti' flavoring.
How to Use
I was a bit curious about the dosage. According to the instructions, kids between 3 and 7 years old should take 3 capsules a day with meals, while kids over 7 years old should take 4 capsules a day with meals. The recommended duration of use is 1 month, but you can repeat the course if needed. I've read that some parents have done this multiple times within a year.
What's in One Capsule
The manufacturer provides a table showing the amount of each ingredient that gets absorbed by the child's body, categorized by age and sex. I was interested in seeing how well this supplement covers the child's nutritional needs. Vitamin A and E are great, but vitamin D is a bit lower. Omega-3 is a bit of a concern, but I know that's not unique to this product - it's a common issue with many supplements. It's essential to remember that this supplement is not a substitute for a balanced diet and regular fish consumption.
Here's what you get in one capsule: Omega-3 fatty acids - 105mg, of which 54mg is EPA and 36mg is DHA; Vitamin A - 0.16mg; Vitamin E - 2.25mg; Vitamin D3 - 0.0033mg.
Organoleptic Properties
I was pleasantly surprised by the appearance of the supplement. It comes in two colors and has a nice, round shape. The capsules are relatively small, which is great for kids. The gelatin coating is soft and easy to chew, and when you open it, you get a nice, liquid fish oil with a corresponding aroma.
I've got to say, the aroma capsule is a real treat - it smells like a fruity mix, and the taste is sweet and pleasant. The fatty content inside is just like the adult capsules. The smell of the fish oil is there, but it's not overpowering or too strong. My kid eats it up, and the aroma is noticeable at first, but then it fades away. I've had another fish oil supplement before, and the smell was consistent for a long time, but this one doesn't have that same effect.
Our Experience with the Supplement
We started taking the complex and omega oil before the season of colds. I've heard from pharmacists that kids need to take omega oil for a long time - three months or with breaks during the cold season. Given the percentage of omega oil in this product, my picky eater can take it continuously.
As for the taste, it's a mixed bag - some people might enjoy the strong aroma, but it's not very natural. I'm not a fan of the smell, but my kid loves it, and he likes the taste and texture of the capsule, as well as the fact that it's got a fish oil inside. I tried it myself, and it's okay, but I don't get any strong feelings about it. Kids might not like it, but my son loves all fish oil products, no matter what brand I buy.
It's hard to say how effective the supplement is, as there's no clear indicator of its work. I'd suggest taking a look at what it can do:
Strengthening bones and tooth enamel;
Preventing or treating rickets;
Reducing nervous excitability;
Improving brain function;
Boosting the immune system;
Normalizing hair and nail health;
Getting rid of dry mucous membranes
These health indicators are complex, and it's not just about taking fish oil or supplements. You need to eat a balanced diet, get enough fruits and veggies, meat, dairy, and exercise regularly, and maintain a healthy sleep schedule.
I was a bit worried when my kid took Omega for a while and got a mouth infection and a runny nose. But it wasn't a big deal, just a minor issue without any fever. On the other hand, their hair and nails grew nicely, and they didn't experience any dry skin or eye problems, which is a common issue.
This spring, I didn't give my kid fish oil capsules, we stuck to different types of fish-based foods instead. And guess what? They got sick frequently, with endless episodes of congestion and coughing. Plus, they lost two teeth, but new ones grew in right away! I didn't even get a chance to take a picture of their toothless grin, unlike some friends who've been dealing with toothless smiles for months. I think this is a telling sign.
Doctors always recommend supplementing our diet with vitamins, so we try to give our kids as many as possible. It's hard to tell if Omega had a real impact, since it's just a dietary supplement, but it's supposed to provide essential nutrients. Thankfully, it didn't cause any allergic reactions or other negative effects.
