This mold is suitable for use in the oven, microwave, fridge, and freezer. It can withstand temperatures from -40°C to +230°C.
I was a bit surprised by how thin the silicone mold is. I have a thicker mold that's twice as thick as these feet, but it still holds its shape really well.
The feet themselves look super appetizing and have a great texture. They're also pretty big, which gives you more options for using them.
I tried making marshmallows and cupcakes using these feet. I dissolved 50g of gelatin in 200ml of kids' juice, and it took about 15 minutes to bloom. Then I added 200ml of hot water, and the mixture turned out to be really soft and not too firm. Next time, I'll try using 50g of gelatin, 100ml of cold juice, and 100ml of hot juice to get a more concentrated flavor.
I made the marshmallows in the evening, and by the next morning, they had set really well, except for a few that were still stuck in the feet.
If you're making ice, it's easy to get the feet out without any issues. You can even add some fruits or herbs for decoration.
I stored the marshmallans in the fridge in the feet. I made a total of 400ml, but each foot can only hold about 180-190ml, so each foot is roughly 30ml. I made a note of this for future reference.
And a few days later, it was time to eat the feet themselves. I'd been eating the marshmallans from other molds up until then.
I have to admit, some of the marzipan did dry out a bit, but others came out perfectly from the mold. I had to help a few with a knife, running it carefully along the edge.
It turns out there's a little hack - just a tiny bit of vegetable oil on the silicone molds, and you can wipe off the excess with a paper towel. This way, the marzipan will come out easily from any mold. I forgot about this trick, but I think it would work even better if the marzipan is more dense.
I also tried baking in this mold - made six small cupcakes and they disappeared quickly, before I could even take a picture! They turned out great, all intact and even - I think the oil in the batter helped.
I really like this mold, especially considering the price. You can experiment with different marzipan flavors, make it two-colored, or add some fun designs. The mold is also great for making ice cubes - I love freezing ice cubes in advance and storing them in a container in the freezer. I'm thinking of trying to make individual omelets for my kid - maybe it'll be a fun experiment.
You can also use it to make soap, but it's a bit small for adult soap. You could fill it with scented sachets for closets made of wax and dried flowers. To be honest, I have a ton of ideas!
Unreservedly recommended!
I've been using it for a week now, and the build quality has really impressed me. The buttons feel solid, and the battery life has been better than I expected.
