Million Pauline Mascara Energizer Falls Short of Expectations

I recently got my hands on the Million Pauline Mascara Energizer, a gift that left me curious about whether the manufacturer's promises would live up to the buzz.

The first thing I noticed was the packaging – a bright red cardboard box with silver lettering that's a bit hard to read unless you tilt the box. It's definitely eye-catching, but I'm not sure if it's the best design choice.

The box has a lot going on, with the ingredient list on one side and the barcode on the top edge – I've never seen an insert in a mascara box before, so that was a nice touch. It's clear the manufacturer is trying to make a good impression.

The mascara itself comes in a 11 ml volume bottle – a decent size, but nothing out of the ordinary. It's not the biggest or the smallest bottle I've seen, but it gets the job done.

The manufacturer's promises are listed on the back of the box and in the insert – I'm always skeptical when companies make big claims, so I was curious to see if this mascara would deliver. I mean, who doesn't love a good underpromise and overdeliver situation?

Unfortunately, the body of this mascara is a bit of a letdown – it's supposed to be metal, but it's actually plastic. I was really looking forward to a more premium feel, but it's just not there.

The tube itself is pretty standard – it's long and straight, with no tapering or thinning at the ends. It's not the most exciting design, but it gets the job done.

The cap is threaded and twists off easily, which is a nice touch – it's not too tight, so you don't have to exert too much force to get it off. That's always a plus in my book. The brush is made of silicone and has a slight taper at the end – I like it, but the bristles are a bit stiff, so you have to be careful not to scratch your eyelid when applying the mascara. It's not the end of the world, but it's something to be aware of. It also tends to smudge a bit when you apply it, but that's an easy fix. Just use a little less product and you're golden.The color is a deep black and it's pretty even – I like that it doesn't clump. Here's a before-and-after shot:

Now, let's talk about the manufacturer's claims and how they stack up in real life. I was really hoping to see some amazing results, but unfortunately, it didn't quite live up to the hype. According to the packaging, regular use of this mascara is supposed to promote lash growth. I have to admit, I didn't see the promised effect – I wasn't expecting a 25% increase in lash length, but I did want to note that there's no noticeable difference in lash length from before using this mascara to a month after. It's just not something that's going to change your life.So, the manufacturer's claims didn't quite live up to my expectations. It separates my lashes okay, and I can apply it in one or two coats – when I apply it in two coats, it weighs my lashes down, which isn't my favorite look. It's just not something that's going to wow you.

It does take a while to dry, but it comes off easily with micellar water and a cotton pad. That's always a plus in my book.

You can buy this mascara on the pages of popular online stores – it costs around 169 rubles, which is a budget-friendly option. For the price, it's not bad, but it's just not enough for me – I usually stick with the 'Belif' mascara, which is one of my favorites. It's just a better all-around product.
