Merries Good Skin Diapers

I've used these diapers for my little one and I'm really impressed. They're super soft and gentle on baby's skin, making them perfect for everyday use. Plus, they're reliable and easy to put on - a must-have for any parent! I appreciate the value for money, and the build quality is top-notch. I've noticed the diapers hold up well to multiple changes, and the material doesn't irritate my baby's skin even after extended wear.

summarizeEditor's Summary

I recently gave the Merries Good Skin Disposable Diapers a try, but unfortunately, they didn't quite live up to my expectations. As a parent on the hunt for the best disposable diapers for my little one, I'm always on the lookout for products that offer great value for money, ease of use, and top-notch build quality. Unfortunately, the Merries Diapering System fell short in these areas, and here's why. From the stiff texture to the poor leak protection, there are several things that left me underwhelmed. The breathable film on the backside helps keep your baby's skin dry and comfortable, but it's not enough to make up for the other issues. In this review, I'll share my honest thoughts on the pros and cons of the Merries Good Skin Disposable Diapers, so you can make an informed decision for your family.

✔️My Impressions:
I was initially put off by how paper-like the diapers feel. I haven't come across anything like that in a while, and I'm not sure how a baby would react to touching them.
The lack of a moisture indicator didn't bother me. I can easily tell when it's time to change the diaper without one.
However, the absence of a disposal strip made it quite inconvenient. For one, used diapers take up more space, and secondly, they're hard to fold back up neatly after a messy diaper. It's a bit puzzling that the manufacturer didn't include a small piece of adhesive tape for this purpose.
Merries Good Skin Disposable Baby PantsThe graphics on these disposable baby pants are super vibrant and take up most of the surface. The elastic waistband on the legs is really stretchy, and the high protective edges are a nice touch. I've got no complaints there.
Merries Good Skin Disposable Baby PantsBut the label on the pants is a bit weird - there are these random strips of fabric on the sides.
Merries Good Skin Disposable Baby PantsI mean, couldn't they have just trimmed those off or something?
Merries Good Skin Disposable Baby PantsAnd then there's the waistband. It's got all these layers...
Merries Good Skin Disposable Baby PantsIt kinda looks like ruffles, but it's not very comfortable. The waistband doesn't put too much pressure on the baby's tummy, but it doesn't really help with the tummy either - it just keeps slipping down.
Merries Good Skin Disposable Baby PantsSo, the waistband doesn't hold its shape, but at least it doesn't leave any marks on the baby's skin.
Merries Good Skin Disposable Diapers for BabiesWhen I take a look at the internal layer of these disposable diapers, I'm impressed by how smooth it is against my baby's skin. No perforations or rough spots in sight.
Merries Good Skin Disposable Diapers for BabiesEven with new, unused diapers, I can see that the absorbent material is somehow clumped together in certain areas. Not exactly what I'd call a high-tech design.
Merries Good Skin Disposable Diapers for BabiesThat's my take on the exterior of these diapers. Not exactly the best, if you ask me.Now, let's talk about how they perform in real life.
I put them on my baby, and I was surprised by how small they run. For a 7.5 kg baby, they're just about right... or maybe up to 9 kg, but that's about it. And this is for a skinny baby, too - a chunkier one might already be too big by 8 kg.
As long as my baby isn't moving around, the waistband stays in place and fits nicely around their waist. But the moment they start crawling or standing up, the waistband starts to slide down towards their belly.
Merries Good Skin Disposable Diapers for BabiesThe diapers do absorb liquid well and prevent leaks. However, they don't hold onto it for long - my baby's bottom is always slightly damp after the first trip to the bathroom. The absorbent material gets really puffy when it's wet and expands in size:
Merries Good Skin Disposable Diapers for KidsThe problem is, the diapers become uncomfortable between the legs.
Merries Good Skin Disposable Diapers for KidsBut the worst part is, the filler gets clumped up and hard. Forget about any even distribution of moisture - it's a joke. You end up with patches of the diaper where there's no absorbent at all.
Merries Good Skin Disposable Diapers for KidsIf the kid stands or crawls, the diaper starts sagging between the legs (that's where most of the absorbent ends up).A liquid stool from my baby just leaks right through the diaper - it's like it's not even there. The liquid just pours through the back or the sides. The waistband and the leg tabs are no match for it. And to make matters worse, the seams around the sides are prone to ripping, making it a nightmare to change the baby. I wouldn't even dare to put these on my kid at night. And even during the day, I have to change them frequently to keep my baby's skin from getting constantly soggy. I only wear them for a couple of hours at a time, and even then, I mix them with better-quality diapers.
The results? Redness, irritation, and skin rashes. No allergic reactions, though.
✔️My Verdict:
I'm kicking myself for buying these (where did all those positive reviews come from?!). They feel like paper, run small, clump up, and don't hold moisture well. But they don't leak, either. My baby's skin was constantly damp, leading to rashes and redness, and to top it all off, there's this awful ammonia smell from the baby's urine. I wouldn't buy these again, and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone else.
